Sorry about your car. Been there before myself. Sat on the horn while someone backed into me. I was blocked in be cars fore and aft so I couldn't move. It's frustrating but a good body shop can amaze you.

acura zdx have insurance and they will full pay for reparing. I drop my car to Macros shop (which is BMW certified auto body shop) , then next day they give me estimate that OEM part for Door and Fender is $6,600.00 and the labor gonna be $3000.00.

they will take out the whole inner pannel ,change the whole metal door put inner pannel back and replace the whole fender (fender is madeby fibreglass becarefull everybody,it will crack if hit on fender) . Then they will paint the door and fender.

I hope they can fix my car perfectly.
damn dealer's price are RAPE

The whole thing sucks but at least it was minor, maybe not as costs go but as far as damage. Also, you won't have to worry about suspension being messed up and all that fun stuff with big accidents.

Good luck!

Not to be an ass or anything. But Acura's new styling, similar to a bird (hence the pointy front and back bumper), did not help what so ever. Looks like it gave you a poke check

No offense but, and hyperbole aside, if another driver's stupidity/negligence would cause you to want to shoot someone then you probably should not own a firearm regardless of whether it is kept in your car.

if you think this is bad, there was a forum member who's car got hit and run by a CRAZY drunk driver who just randomly decided to reverse at a high speed into his car while he was at a liquor store. he has the whole thing on videotape (courtesy of the liquor stores security cams). Do a search for it and you'll see for yourself. If this makes you angry, that will make you want to tear your hear out !

Same thing happened to me in my brand new '08 550i when I was sitting in a line of traffic waiting to exit a mall. For a moment I figured that it was so obvious that I could forgo a police report but decided it to call them just in case. It was clearly her fault as the report clearly stated. However, when it came time for her to report it to her insurance company, she said that she was backing up and I swerved around her making me partially, if not mostly, responsible. If I hadn't had the police report my insurance company could have reemed me for the accident. Instead, it was deemed 100% her fault and my policy was unaffected.

I was under the impression that if you're backing up, you don't have right of way no matter what. In that sense, it shouldn't matter even if you swerved behind her like she was claiming. It should still be her fault.

That kind of shit happens all the time. And, in many cases, it's not the other driver changing their story later; rather, it's their insurance company that makes them.

I heard (somebody correct me on this if it's inaccurate plz) that the insured has no right to admit fault - i.e. that determination is ultimately with his or her insurance company. So, in an accident, if there's no police accident report, but the other party wrote you, on the spot, a written admission of guilt, his or her insurance company can still decide to challenge & contest the ruling/outcome.

And, in many cases, even your own insurance company is not watching your interest, which is why many people automatically get an attorney.

I disagree. However firearms can lead to a sticky legal situation, particularly if empty shell casings are left lying around.

The door is listed there for around $800. That is for the outer shell only... the body shop will use the inside material from your door, same for the window. Even if they have to order a new mount, seals, etc... that would NEVER add up to $6K.

Sounds to me they are ripping off the insurance - which is bad for everybody, including you.

OH man! that is shitty. I was reminded of this thread because something similar almost happened to me this morning. I was walking away from my car after parking, and this lady was trying to back out of her spot. She came so f-ing close to hitting my car that I ran over to her car and banged on the window. I was like "Stop stop! You have plenty of room in the front - no need to back up any more." Thank god I was right there. She would have definitely hit it, and probably just been like "meh - (put in drive and leave)." Some people should not have a license.

BTW - in regards to OP - Acura ZDX is the worst looking car! Up there with Pontiac Aztec.
