I to would love to own an E90, I think the car has a perfect balance of lines and curves and if I may add "who wouldn't want ass like that"

Buying a few VWs in the early 2000s started my love for German cars (first a Passat, then a GTI 337 edition, later my R32). After the 337 was more or less totalled in a t-bone and I got a decent diminished value settlement, I was able to get into a 330ci (I also could have bought a ZHP 330ci at the time, didn't b/c it was a good bit more, I still sometimes regret not getting it). After a few years of DD my R32 (with a 330ciC thrown in at one point), and doing HPDEs with the local BMWCCA chapter, my love for BMWs continued, but I didn't yet have a strong M attraction. I liked the E46 M, but thought it was probably too raw as a DD, and found the E36 Ms a little too subtle.

My first real M moment was probably the first time I laid eyes on the new ALMS M3 racecar. I remember seeing it in the corral at Road America in 2008, the year before it first raced. Still, living in midwest, wasn't sure about RWD in my DD, and purchased a 335xi coupe that fall instead (probably also a cost thing), while the R32 continued on path to dedicated track car. I knew pretty quick the 335xi was a mistake, as I hated the suspension, and the twin-turbo, while powerful, didn't give me the NA sound/feel I had and loved in the R32. A test drive in the M3 at BMWCCA Ofest sealed the deal for me and got wife stamp of approval (I think she feels more comfortable driving the M than she did in the 335xi), and I decided I'd be fine with RWD and snows. Planned an ED trip in spring 2011, and finally got the car I probably should have gotten in 2008. Breaking the car in on the autobahn really showed how special this car is, and I haven't looked back.

Always liked bmw and M cars, but I really fell in love with the M brand with my Z4M. Unfortunately I no longer own the car but am very happy with my E92.

Like many others I have always appreciated nice cars. The rest of my family have Mercedes and for the longest time I figured that is the route I would go too (I still do really like the Mercs). However, my friend's dad has a 2002 m3 convertible and we went for a drive in it a few years back and I realized I'd be quite happy with a bmw. I snagged a 2006 e90 325i 2 years ago and after mulling it over decided I wanted to upgrade. I bought a 2011.5 e90 ZCP m3 at the beginning of August and had it shipped from the east coast to my dad's place while I was in Europe on vacation. I got back this past weekend and only saw the car in person/drove it for the first time this Monday. That first drive to work was all it took. I could not be any happier!

It's great to see the different avenues each one took, glad we all have common automotive volition. I have to admit, owning an M3 is no way close to being cheap. Practicality goes out the window the moment we signed that paper. But the joy of driving it and the pride of owning an M3 is like no other. I mean it's not a Porsche, Ferrari, Lambo, heck it's not a GTR, but the sheer joy we get from spirited driving, to the roar/woot of down shifting, even that feeling of emptiness when we take a turn at 80+mph it's unrivaled.

Always loved BMWs, but never laid down the cash. Then new coworker had a Z3M...done deal! Hooked.

I loved the e46 M3 when I was at an outlet with my family and my dad pointed it out and said thats a really awesome car. Prob the only car he ever pointed out that stuck in my mind and I remember it was Phoenix Yellow. I didnt like the e92 M3 because all the 328i and 335i at the time looked alright and the pictures that I've seen of the e92 M3 were bad angles (front view but slightly towards the driver corner viewed from headlight height). Then I watched the M3 GT2 return to American Le Mans on youtube and fell in love.

I've always loved them in HS in what not (which was E46 for me). Then when the E92 came out - loved the body styling.

Just visited my cousin in Florida this past weekend and made the fatal mistake of accepting the invitation of giving it a 45 minute test drive.

I'm hooked.

I was about twelve at the time when I truly fell in love with BMW ///M. I just got the Car and Driver magazine I ordered for a school fundraiser. In it was one of the first reviews for the e9x m3. After reading it I absolutely fell in love with the m brand. I was about 13 at the time and I saw my first e9x m3 parked on the streets of Chicago. I was learning the difference of e9x and e46 at the time fueled by the Bugatti vs m3 video on YouTube and I thought e46 and e9x pertained to engine size and not body style. When I was 14 my uncle gave me the keys to his 328i and told me to have fun in our businesses parking lot. Due to it being empty and me being 14 I decided to turn that parking lot into a track. To this day I'm still surprised my dad in the passenger seat didn't tell me to stop. That day sealed the deal on BMW's for me and the rest is history.

You're very fortunate to own an M at a young age. I was only dreaming and looking at pictures on my wall at that age.

That's awesome. I started a savings fund for one until I realized I might be getting married sooner than later. I tried to do the smart thing as well and just bought a condo yesterday. Now all I need to do is save for a wedding, and hopefully soon after we'll buy the F80!

Oh, and the first time I even considered an M was watching Taxi. (with Jimmy Fallon and Queen Latifah, i'm sure my sister was watching it....) It featured 2 e46 m3s and watching them in that movie created the ambition I have today. Won't stop till I join the club!

Congrats on the new condo, that in itself is an achievement. My journey took a lot of unexpected turns, but positive outlook and timing played a big part in purchasing my M3.
