Picking up new M3 from dealer (in CA). Any advice on fees and upsell items?

May be picking up M3 very soon and want to be prepared. In my previous car buying experiences I was presented with decisions (e.g. buy extended warranty, lease miles increase, tire protection, lifetime detailing, etc...) I had to make on the spot and I was lacking information. This time I want to be better prepared.

Are there any fees that tend to be marked up/negotiable I should be aware of? I've seen lease rates go over mfg rates, heard about lease fees being higher than mfg sets, etc...

I am sure I will be offered a variety of things to purchase - e.g. extended warranty. Anything worth getting at that time? Or say "no" to everything, go home, and figure out later?

Advice/sharing of recent experiences is appreciated.

EVERYTHING IS MARKED UP... and, it's all negotiable.

Just know that everything the dealer offers can be purchased after market. The idea is that the cost is worked into the monthly payments.

FWIW: I went with the tire protection. I forget how much I paid... it was some number less than the dealer's offer.

If you plan to keep the car beyond 4 years, I would consider the extended warranty and negotiate a price you can live with.

OP, in my opinion, pass on all of the services. If you plan on keeping the vehicle beyond the warranty period an extended version can be purchased from any dealer.

For lease miles, you can buy additional miles from BMWFS up to 6 months from lease maturity.
