So how long are you looking at now to actually receive the car? I imagine waiting once it's actually built is pretty difficult!

I personally do not care for the look of the headlight washers in front of the lights. It's not aesthetically pleasing. But if you need/like them then by all means go for it. When I purchased my car I had originally opted for the cold weather package and then deleted it on the advice of my SA who showed me photos. I'm just throwing it out there for you to consider and am in no way being critical.

Best of luck. Don't forget to add some pics when it finally arrives.
I could care less about the ski bag, I've never been haha. I only got the option for the heated seats, but I wasn't aware it was an option to just add this feature. I've never had a car with headlight washers, so I'm not sure how effective they actually are, I'll have to do some google image searching to see if I can see how this feature looks. Do you have any idea what the price difference was?

Heated seats are a stand alone option with an MSRP of $500 which is $250 less than the cold weather package. Go onto the BMWUSA.com website and build your M3. Heated seats are listed under Options.

Lastly, when you use the headlight washers they spray window washing fluid all over the front bumper and the hood. Very annoying.

I concur with Hurricane; headlight washers aren't worth considering even if they were free. Stand-alone seat heaters is the way to go 100%.

As for the wait, it's maddening. I put my deposit down in February, had production start at the end of March, and am now finally picking up the car tomorrow. Seemed like forever but totally worth it!

+2

I have the washers on my 335i sedan and they are a waste. Makes a mess and don't think they clean much. Also they drain your window cleaner like crazy.

Most annoying thing about mine is they come on when your lights are on and you go to clean your windshield. Many times I have turned my lights off (during dawn/dusk) when cleaning my windshield because I didn't want cleaner splashed all over the front of the car.

I am going to avoid them in the future whenever possible. Considering all you lose is a ski bag by opting for heated seats only, no biggie.

I agree - I have the headlight washers on my 135i and all they do is make water spots all over my hood every time I try to clean off my windsheild. I am thinking I may disconnect or plug the lines for the couple of months I have left with the 135i - super annoying.

I am expecting 6 to 8 weeks, since the car has to go to CA get prepped at the prep center then wait to get back on a ship to bring it to Hawaii and get unloaded and delivered to the dealer. But you never know - just depends on if there is room on the ship and the shipping schedule.

Thanks for the input on the cold weather package. I think I'm just going to keep it, I don't find the looks of the bumper to be that bad.

Visited my dealer today for the ultimate drive event they had going on, and asked him if they have my vin # yet, he looked and said they don't...should I be worried? The reason I'm asking is because according to the ordering thread on here on ordering/delivery it says they should have this once the vehicle has been officially ordered & given allocation by BMW. My salesman did say the ordered has been approved by BMWNA, but that is pretty much all the information he has...as of today it will be 20 days since I have placed my order.

Your car receives a VIN once it reaches status 150 (production started), which is roughly a week before it starts actually being built (status 151-155).

As long as your order is confirmed (status 112), just sit back and wait for your production week. Your dealer should be able to give you that production week.

Thank you, I just wanted to double check...side note the interior of a 640i grand coupe is insanely nice

Here are my build details:

Le Mans Blue Metallic
Black Novello Extended
Carbon Leather Trim
6 Speed Manual
Competition Package
Cold Weather Package
Premium Package
Automatic High Beams
BMW Apps
Enhanced Premium Sound
Rear Spoiler Deletion (I plan on adding the Carbon Fiber)
No Moonroof

I am trying to contain my excitement because 90 days is a long time away, but this is my dream car so it's a bit challenging.
