I知 Coming Back!!

Well, after a few years hiatus I am glad to be back on this forum. I sold my e92 M3 a few years ago and dabbled in a few other cars but am currently in final negotiations to get back to an E92. Has always been my favorite car and I regretted selling it a few years ago. Will post pics once deal is done.

I had a Mustang GT to try something totally different...fun car...as well as an F80 M3. Incredible performance, comfort etc...but sounded terrible and for some reason I just never connected with the car.

What was your complaint with the GT?

No real complaints, overall it was a good car. I just get bored way too easily with cars

Nice. I happen to be a fan of the Mustang....other than it being a mustang. You're like the 4th person I've read about in a week that dumped the f8x platform however

Long live the E9X M3.

The ONE car I'm tempted to get is a Mustang GT350. There are a couple around my house and I see and hear them driving around... drool.

Agreed, those are special cars...the engine alone is incredible.

My Wife has a 2016 Mustang. Not the GT but the same car design and interior. I like it alot. It is very comfortable. I just don't like looking out the windshield and seeing that huge hood sticking in my face. Overall visibility is horrible as well.

I drove a 1989 Honda Prelude with 4WS. I wish I threw a turbo on that bitch. Certainly would out handle my M. Front wheel drive and all. Simple could not lose traction on the rear with that car. No matter how fast you took a curve. Well at least to the size of balls the drive had.

As a general rule, FWD is not the layout that provides the best handling. Generally it provides the worst since, as you have noted, the rear tires will always lose grip last, which means understeer. When the front tires lose grip first you lose steering control, you cannot power your way through it, and you cannot use the throttle to position the rear of the car. The only remedy when the front loses grip is to come off of the throttle and slow down. Ever wonder why no current dedicated race cars are designed to be FWD? They are all either RWD or AWD.

Yeah sure.. but I don't think you knew what 4WS meant. it is Four Wheel Steering. So for most drivers.. especially on the street.. The car has bigger balls then the driver does.

Regarding powering through. You won't have to do that when the rear never comes around. Besides that, drifting a rear is not the fastest way through a curve.. But it is fun.

The new Honda Civic Type R is getting very good reviews on the track. Looks like it is the best front driver on the market. Bear an STI and 370Z on the track and to 120mph according to Road & Track. It's not an E9xM3 but it looks pretty good if you want a brand new commuter car for $35k.

The 2018 Mustang GT with level 2 pack or whatever they're calling it is very intriguing. A used market E9x M3 is hard to pass up right now though. Prices are right and the car is timeless.

Agreed...the car I will be picking up is a fully loaded 2011 with 20k miles. Fingers crossed for a relatively painless experience from a repair standpoint!!
