You won't regret the car from a fun perspective. I've owned just about the same number of vehicles as I have years on this rock, and this is one hell of a machine. I mean one HELL of a machine. I think it has officially obtained favorite status, and this is with some pretty substantial rides in my possession. In terms of feedback and it being a driver's car I think the closest I've got is my Spec E30, but it's a stripped out toy so I don't think that necessarily fits in the same category.

I don’t think the blackstone report will tell you much. I believe BMW updated the rod bearings in 2011, and the report won’t give you the tell take signs of wear.
I would do them as a matter of scheduled maintenance at 120km.

Agree on such a fantastic vehicle it is, from every POV.

DCT will last substantially longer than manual single clutch.

It seems ever since I made mention of me doing Blackstone everyone is dropping this knowledge on me! The more you know!

I watched a YT video where a guy sent some of his e92 oil to black stone, he got high led and copper I think. They specifically mentioned changing the rod bearings.

Totally unrelated, but does anyone know if trim from the rear of a e92 will fit e90 rear doors? I found some badass splatter trim, but don't want to get it if it won't fit..

OP- To answer your question..........

According to BMW maintenance schedule- the M/T requires fluid change every 37,500 miles. The DCT has permanent transmission fluid and does not need replacement for the life of the transmission.

Differential requires fluid change at 37,500 regardless of transmission.

A "lifetime" for the fluid is 100k miles.
Should still be changed.

I love manuals. I like pushing the clutch in and letting a pause vary as I engine the sounds.

Sunday I tried my first DCT and was surprised I could do the same thing. I honestly can say I really enjoyed it and if I were to have another chance at another e92, I'd still be torn at making the decision. But once it's made, I'd be committed to rolling my own gears with a stick or paddle/console shifter.

Someday I'll get the ultimate clutch pedal.

I think I spent about 2k over the course of 3 years for maintenance. But then again, I drive a shit ton.

I've changed my DCT fluid at 100K, still looks green though. Filter was filthy, however.
