It's not a bad deal. However. The blower on it is deprecated now, AA moved to Rotrex blowers, the one in this kit is an HKS. I'm not sure as to whether or not it's rebuildable and Rotrex's are known for going south at 20k miles or so apparently.

It's an older kit for a decent buy in. But when you factor in getting a tune and the inevitable replacement of the supercharger unit/kit level, you're looking at like $3,000-$4,000 of additional cost to bring it to a modern standard that won't have you wondering when things are going to break.

This is issue isn't as frequent any more which was the main reason we went towards the hks a few years back. Rotrex has since been under new management and the issues have been far reduced. We have many customers with over 100k miles and a e92 m3 with over 80k on level 2 hks unit.

Gotcha, thanks for clarifying.

Just out of curiosity, what would it cost to bump this kit up to Gen 2 Level 3?

Do it. I had the Gen 1 kit with the hks unit for 4yrs, 25k plus miles. Recently upgraded to the rotrex System. The systems have been reliable and trouble free, not 1 issue. They are extremely helpful and answered every question I asked. yes it's a great mod but their level of customer service has been amazing.
