Car jerks from 3rd to 2nd gear

i have a 2009 BMW M3 E92 DCT with 38,000 miles. The car started jerking from 3rd to 2nd gear downshift in automatic mode.

i took it in to the BMW dealership in Las Vegas and they said i have a "Trans pan leaking" and it would be about $1,500 to fix and my 3rd party warranty refused to cover the costs. i had Wanted Auto Protect, i ended up canceling it for both my cars. After i threatened to cancel, they called me up saying they will cover all the costs, i did not take their offer and canceled it anyway. i can always find a different company. i don't like dealing with scammers

my question is, can the car be jerking because of that?
