Help me decide about my M3 order
I have an 09 M3 on order. I drove the car and loved it. I actually like it better than the M5. Here is my dilemma. The car is 70k. My eyes have been wondering and I have actually found a 2006 SL55AMG with 20k on the clock for 72K. I know they are 2 totally different cars. But I always like the SL amg although i dislike Mercs in general. So the question now is what do i do. I absolutely love the new M3 but shit that SL 55 amg is a monster and is a beautiful car. Im really torn. Any advice.
Just for background i was considering used 911, new Z06, used viper, used M5 or M6 that can all be had for the price of an M3 new. I tested all of them and really thought about it and decided on the M3. But this SL55 is just calling my name. Does anyone have personal experience with this car that can help. Im worried about reliabilty especially and handling. Thanks |

If it were me I'd get the M3. It's always been BMW > Mercedes for me. I always feel BMW is more focused on performance (that includes turning).
I would test drive them all and see which one you feel is the best for you, and also take account the "space" each of your choices accommodates. |

If you are worried about handling, then you'd be absolutely crazy to buy the car without driving it (or any SL55) first. This is regardless of what impressions you hear in this forum or any Mercedes forum you've posted to. So then, step away from the computer and go find one to drive an make the choice. Nothing you get from other opinions is going to mitigate any risks (and they are big IMHO) you would be taking by making this purchase without some hands on with the car.
