Estoril Blue M3 now available...

BMW is making this awesome color available for the M3. If so I am so pissed as this was the color I wanted before deciding on AW.

No word yet if it'll be available in the US.

From dark335i's post:
Quote:
BMW Estoril Blue returns
BMW is bringing back its famous Estoril Blue paint scheme for its M cars.

The colour was axed because it was solvent-based and made using a process which is harmful to the environment. But BMW has finally figured out how to recreate the exact same colour using new eco-friendly water-based paint. And it should be available to order in the next few months.

A product planning manager for BMW’s M division told us: “Our paint specialists initially weren’t able to recreate the colour using water-based paints. That’s why Estoril Blue is not currently available. But they’ve been working on this problem for some time and they have finally cracked it. You can expect to see it on cars again soon.”

Estoril Blue was a huge hit on previous generations of M3s and M5s and, in the UK at least, it was the most popular colour. As a result customers were very disappointed that it wasn’t offered on the current generation cars. Various websites and forums have been running petitions to get BMW to bring the paint back. Well, guys, we can officially confirm your requests have been met! -- http://www.imotormag.co.uk/news/2967...e_returns.html

I think they might be talking about Monte Carlo blue, which is available on the m3 edition models in Europe. If estoril does come back i demand they give me a new m3 for free in estoril, bc so many times I tried to get them to paint an e92 estoril and I got denied

Hack's me that now they start putting out some of the true BMW colors. I would of ordered this instead of the Jerez Black that I have now.

I think this is a better representation of Estoril. Beatiful color! Might have even been my 1st choice...

Hmmm. I'm tempted to say Impreza blue looking at that picture. Wouldn't be my cup of tea but certainly not the worst colour out there.

From memory in Ireland I believe it was probably the most popular E46 colour that people bought back home.

I doubt it's Estoril, I think it's going to be Monte Carlo Blue.

Hmmmm. Nope, here are some more examples of EB on an Mcoupe and E36. It's not "Impreza Blue".
I think the first picture (Bills posted) makes it look a lot lighter than it is. I know it's not LSB but in that picture it looks closer to that color than EB.

Word on the street? Any sources other than gossip or at least a link to a rumor?

The M3 Edition will come in Monte Carlo Blue, not Estoril Blue.

lol...word on the street.

I just called 'the street'...and it went straight to voicemail!

Even if this is true, be prepared to scratch a check for 5 grand to get it.

I have not seen Monte Carlo IRL, but from what I've heard, they are very similar.
