I just did my second oil change at 3k miles. Many people do a second at 5k. I would never go 15k, especially on a new tight motor that has metal shavings in it.

If you personally change the oil yourself do you have to reset the CPU or does it reset itself? Or does it reset only when it's time for the dealer to change the oil for you?

Theoretically yes, but you won't find many folks here who plan to keep their cars long term who won't be changing at less than 15K, either due to annual usage half of that or just changing more frequently and at less miles than 15K.
