Hmmm....who doesnt have or have had a Porsche in any of its incarnations?
*yawns*

And the GTR is supply and demand. The supply doesnt meet the demand as there are only a limited GTRs that are produced per year.

Pcars? lol...many dude..many.

Nice..+1. Exclusivity too..you dont see nearly as many of those as much as you do the p cars although performance wise, Pcars all the way (vs the audi).

You need more than a turbo or a gt3.

Pretty close, don't you think? If you want gtr performance with German style and prestige for under 100k just buy a used 911 turbo. Similar performance, similar cost, but the 911 has much better styling and feels nice and small. The gtr feels big, not everyone's cup of tea...

I for one would get neither. I prefer my Na r8. Sounds amazing, looks amazing, and with my apr tune it'll run with gtr's and 911's all day.

How many times does it have to be repeated that a 2012 and beyond GTRwithout using launch control is faster through 130 than an M6 using its lc? Do you comprehend?

I comprehend perfectly. Where is your proof in video other than paper stats the nissan guys like to quote where GTR 12 is faster than M6 0 - 130 without LC?

GTR fanboys are like cockroaches, just when you think you get rid of them, they come out like like mofo and get all worked up over GTR video.

OP race criteria were:

1) 0-200 1st gear (I did not disengage the traction to full off but kept it to limited)
2) rolling 2nd gear from 50km/h
3) rolling 3rd gear from 110km/h
4) highway 100-275 start 3rd gear.

So you are no longer challenging 2,3,4 now? We are at 1 now 0-200kpm or approx 124mph or as you stated even without LC, GTR is faster to 130. What is that assumption based on? Let me guess, more paper stats

There will be more vidoes as time goes by and you will see same result so long as GTR is stock vs stock M6. Speaking of paper bull***. GTR nut*** want to pull paper stats too on 458. Look at how GTR gets crushed rolling stats against 458 stock vs stock but paper/LC says it should be faster which it is NOT in the real world. paper stats mean s**t in the real world. I trust what i see with my eyes than some stats on paper.

You're kidding, right? Do you understand I have owned three GTRs?
Do you understand I have tested each one of them over and over again using a Vbox?
Do you grasp the fact that I have repeatedly had better times than a launched M6 without using LC. These are consistent. A nonlaunched 2012 and beyond GTR will be in the mid to high 3s to 60. Will consistently take 4 seconds to go from 60-100. These are better than an M6.
Does an M6 do better up high? Yes but it will take a quarter mile before you start seeing it. But my gripe is showing an M6 pulling down low (ie its not representative of M6 versus GTR performance).

A piece of advice: try and avoid ad hom

Yeah they're close but the GTR usually is a tad quicker. Nonetheless I would own a GT3 or a Turbo over a GTR if they weren't sooooo expensive. Before I bought this last GTR I was going to pull the trigger on a Turbo S but couldn't rationalize the $70k price difference.
I also salivate over a V10 R8. Very nice.

How much did you pay for your latest gtr? Around 100k right? I bought a very low mileage 2010 gt3 for around that price. It was cpo and had a better longer warranty than a brand new gtr.

It was right around $100k(a little more after tax and license).
I have gone back and forth on a 997.2 GT3. I really want one but am waiting to see what the 991GT3 comes in at. If its under $130k I may buy one. I really want to own a GT3 once in my life.

No! Haven't you seen twilight? We're like the Vampires and Werewolves. Destined to not get along. Oh wait. They got along at the end of the last movie.

Nevermind.

That's not gonna happen. The new gt3 will be well over 150k. I've seen carrera s top out at 140k

I sold my gt3 after 2 months. It was really more of a love hate relationship. I loved how it drove but hated everything f else about it. The r8 is the ultimate everyday super car. Best car I've ever owned by far.

You're probably right. It may base out at $130k but with any options it'll go over $150k. It's depressing.
I would probably have the same reaction to the GT3 as you. Every one I have test driven have been great fun but seem like they'd be taxing if you tried DDing it.

Yeah but why would you buy the slower of the 2 cars in your 100k budget? GTR>GT3 any day of the week. I too was deciding between the two and went with the faster, newer, and less common option.

Gtr is faster no doubt, does that make gtr>gt3? Hell no. Not everyone buys a car based on how fast it accelerates alone, and doesn't make it any better of a car. Like i said in a previous post, there's no denying what the gtr is capable of especially at its price point, Doesn't make it the car for me.

I don't like big cars and I don't like forced induction. It's really hard to find a very fast, highrevving, nice car that can keep up with the likes of a gtr and Porsche turbo for under a 100k. I stretched my budget a bit and couldn't be happier.

It is really a question of gearing. Did the GTR jump hard, let off then get back on it??

The reality is, that M6 could be making something like 530whp/500wt stock, has a 7 speed dual clutch, and has an additional 200RPM suggesting a broad power band up top. Both have excellent gearing and make power until redline, but the GTR's 3.70 gear allows it to be in 4th gear by 99mph. The M6 doesn't hit 4th until 105-110.
To me, this would suggest the GTR would simply jump out and stay out until it got to it's wider ratios post 100-110mph.

As far as dig racing and trap speeds you can't really argue a point with that and use it as a concrete fact. They are variables, in the sense that the conditions, driver, tires, track prep vary.
What is fact, is the GTR hooks up and the M6 does not from a dig. Both cars have trapped low 120's in the 1/4, albeit the M6 doing it while only powering two wheels through the 1/8th mile.
