Red car was pretty.
Good updates. Time for some PFCs on that thing! How's vet school going?

Can you just replace the rotor rings with that kit? Are the hats pretty standardized?
I had the first kit for our car from them in 2009 and waited months for it and the bracket didn't fit right. They were stand up about it and paid me back the kit, shipping and install money. Anyone know what wheels are on the red car? .

Not sure, here's a closer look of the wheels though: For the BBK? Not too sure what the price would be now. I think Vivid Racing still has some stock, but WP Pro North America shut down and is now run directly from the manufacture. As in you're literally talking to the guy that makes them if you go to wpprobrakes.com, where you'll be told to email a guy in Taiwan directly. So prices might be a lot cheaper than they used to be through WP Pro North America since you're quite literally dealing with 0 middle men. For ballpark though, they used to sell them for about 3K for front and 2.4K for rear full BBK. I would recommend against the saw-blade style and stick with regular drilled rotors. They don't offer slotted rotors. If you do get a price can you message back, I'm curious as to what they go for if buying straight from the manufacturer. |

Toyo R888R
Btw, careful of your wheel offsets! Should have checked the forums more..
Wheels on the car are Volk Racing G25 DBK with +22 ET, 9.5" in front and 10.5" in rear. We were originally going to go with Toyo R888R street / track tires, 265/30/19 and 295/30/19. Unfortunately, they wouldn't fit! Toyo fortunately took them back no problem. Might have been for the best though, not sure how comfortable or long lasting those would be as daily drivers. But WOW did they look awesome. With +22 ET, you have to run stretched tires to make them fit |

Rosh, those R888 would be TERRIBLE on the street.
Consider the new Continental Extreme ContactSport's, and you can't go wrong with the Michelin 4s. If you really want a street tire you can track with, consider the RS4, RE71R or maybe the Dunlop StarSpecs. The best bang for the buck is NT05. Quote:
But what's the WET boiling point? That's what REALLY matters... unless you like flushing your brakes regularly or after track events. The wet boiling point for RBF660 is 400 vs. SRF wet boiling point of 518. So you gain 27 degrees dry vs 118 degrees wet. Problem is, the fluid starts absorbing moisture from the moment it's in the car, so it's not going to be at that dry state for very long... unless you flush it out regularly. Meanwhile, that high wet boiling point of SRF will allow you to run the SAME fluid for months with occasional bleeding of the caliper fluid if you really run it hard. Check out the track section of bimmer forums (one word) dot com and you'll see a LOT of professional race teams use it, and flushing the brakes is no big deal to them. It's not everyone's favorite, but I prefer the ease of use and limited flushes that are needed with it. Thanks. SICK wheels. Afraid to ask how much they are?? Looks like he has a GTS from splitter too. .

Amanda ended up getting sponsored by Michelin! I'd like to say we did since I do all the pics. Probably the coolest group to be a part of. Anyways, we got a free set of Michelin PS4S, and they are amazing. Switched from PSS with very decent tread still on, more than half of its life to go, and the difference was noticeable in normal driving. 2 biggest takeaways are that they are quieter both on the freeway and pushing the limit on those lovely 360 on/off ramps, and they are noticeably more responsive on turn in. I have zero doubts that the PS4S has more lateral stiffness than the PSS. The fact that they supposedly last longer and are quieter than the PSS with more grip is pretty impressive. With or without sponsorship its the only tire I'd get for the street. Although I do like the idea of sport cup 2's on a weekend driver and know the RE71R are really great, but would rather go with PS4S on street and PSC2 on weekend toy / track. Installation was interesting. We actually got turned down by 2 shops that wouldn't gaurantee that they wouldn't damage any wheels, as well as only hand-tourquing the titanium lug nuts. Did some research and got recommended by MRF to go to American Tire and Brake. Highly recommend them for So Cal if you have nice wheels. A bit pricier but I've seen horror shows at Discount Tire.. |

This is Mew 1, Mew 2 and Mew 3 all in 1 photo, and one of my favorites: Btw she's not actually applying the coating in that pic. You never mix photos and coatings because you get distracted and coatings require 100% of your attention. Also, no gloves or respiratory equipment is a huge no! |
