CarboProject CF Intake Plenum "Slicktop" Export Version

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
Sold

Item Interest
For sale is a CarboProject CF Intake Plenum. It is the slicktop export version, which is the loudest of all versions.

I purchased this from DanMPower, link to original sales post here

https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1786560

For 1150.00.

When we test fitted it, in the process we noticed that the adhesive had come apart in the rear portion of the intake, as seen in the attached pic.

Dan did his best to reach out to the company who sold it, who decided instead of replacing it, they offered a link to a silicon agent which could be used to re-seal the box.

Personally, i thought this response from the company sucked and we decided against using the airbox and re-installed the OEM box and decided to put this up for sale.

I am sure that the sealing agent will fix the issue easily, but it wasn't something i felt like dealing with, or felt like i should have to deal with.

This issue is my loss, your gain.

Obviously its being sold as is, and would be happy to send additonal pics via text or even a video if helpful of exactly where the issue is.

I will also include in the next post the link to the product recommended by the vendor to fix the crack.

PM if interested, box is sitting waiting for a new owner.

This is what the company said to use to fix the small break in the seal

Is it leaking and needs to be sealed or just aesthetically sealed?

My CarboProject plenum also developed gaps in the seal at the back part after a couple years of use. It's just a cosmetic gap, the plenum doesn't leak. I know this for a fact cos I was chasing down an intake whistle noise and I removed the plenum and water tested it for leaks. Nothing. I just used whatever black silicon I had handy to reseal the gaps. Not the prettiest work, but you can't see it when it's installed anyway.
