I plan on keeping mine. I got it last yr, paid it off, and since i have a little gas saver for the winter and a motorcycle for the summer that i use for a DD. it just sits in my backyard driveway while being modded, little by little. If anything, i plan on getting another bike.

+1.
I came from a e60 M5 and the power is my one and only complaint. If i supercharged it i see myself keeping this car and eventually turning into a track car.

With you there, just over 4 years for me which is the longest ownership of any car. Still loving it, and the mods keep the interest up. Also Supercharged. A Keeper

Honestly can't say. Depends on if the M2 is worthy. So far it looks good on paper, and it's the right size. M4 is too big IMO. It's more of a GT car than a sports coupe to me. Yes i know it's faster, but i like E46 sized cars.

So my plan will be to add, not replace this car. Stupid thing to do financially, but I just cannot bare the thought of parting with it. So many people compliment on the looks and sound of this car.
Could not have said it better myself. The plan was always to have a fast coupe, a fast sedan, and a truck. Two down, and when I finally pick up a Noble or an M2, mission completed. With everything moving to direct injection and the subsequent carbon buildup issues, I'm less inclined to move into a newer 4 dr anything.

Every time I open my garage I see both my E92M3 and 991 GT3, and the decision is the same each time. I think it is time as she is just collecting dust.:-(

Haven't driven the GTS yet and the other two of course aren't available yet, but any of them would be a fair amount of cash to buy, less practical, more expensive to run at the track, and likely more of a headache to run at the track. The GT4 probably has the most potential to attract me, but there are still a lot of unknowns that could sink the deal for me. And the F8x isn't remotely tempting to me.

Meanwhile, my M3 has all the mods I want already bought and installed, it's supported by a wealth of track knowledge and parts (e.g. brake pad compound options), it has rear seats for when people come to visit, I still love driving it on the road and track, it's got an amazing V8 sound, it's been reliable, and it's paid off. I figure I've already spent a bunch of fun money, so now I should probably take a little time to save for the much more boring but obligatory things in life like retirement before getting into an even nicer car -- so the more I think about it, the more I realize that hanging onto an E9x M3 fairly long term definitely wouldn't be the worst thing.
E) All of the above.

(hoping gt4 is NOT turdbos....and it is just a much sharper scapel!!)

After a year and a half I got bored with the power, got ESS 625 supercharger... now ill be keeping her from now on. Even if the engine blows ill just rebuild. Love the car and people come up to me all the time asking about it and taking pictures.

I posted earlier that I was probably going to sell it and trade it in for a Vette. Nope...I have since test drove 3 Vettes (the only car I really thought was comparable in looks, performance and prestige) and I simply could not pull the trigger. I always thought this fit and finish and interior stuff was a bunch of bull. It isn't.

Power is nice in Vette but it comes on like a cannon, loud and messy, revs are not high and although its fast the amazing fluidity of our car, high revving engine and sound proof cabin that allows you to hear, only the engine and exhaust, makes the driving experience simply feel more linear and faster than the Vette. Their cabins are filled with noises from creaking cheap plastic, removable tops that squeak and groan, and road and suspension noise.
My other cars on my list were , GT500, Challenger SRT8, Zl1 Camaro....but they all seem like a downgrade and cost more than what I own on my M3. Hate to say it but when you don't have quality you don't know quality. When you get it and go back only then can you truly recognize the difference....

Leaning towards keeping it for the long haul ....may test drive a couple more but this car is truly special....

Will keep the car likely for 2 more years and then re-evaluate. I love the car thus far, but have only owned her for about 7 months.

I would guess 2-4 years, but it won't be because miles getting too high. Car currently has 23k, being 1 of 3 cars with only 1 driver it isn't going to accumulate too many miles.
