it fits in a 3.2 but not in a 3.0 diff!
but why changing a state of the art clutch-type lsd to a slow performing visco-lok lsd?
normally you change the other way around: removing the vlsd out of e46/9x and installing a proper clutch-type lsd. i did this several times...

ok...
the lsd unit itself will fit in a e36 m3 3.2 diff!
the complete e46 diff will not fit!

The complete diff WILL fit an E36 M3, however, it will only fit with the E36 diff cover.
