Advan Rs-d with falken 452 fitment question...

Does any one have any experience with falken 452 tires? I just bought a set of advan rs-d 20x9 +17 and 20x10.5 +25. What size tires should i run with no drop that will cause no rubbing???

FYI: You rubbed, because the rolling diameter of the front tires you have now are nearly 27". (which is way too tall)

The rolling diameter of your front tire should be in the 25.8"-26.3" range.

Therefore, a 245/30/20 tire would resolve that rubbing issue for you.

Who recommended those incorrect tire sizes to you anyway?

BTW: Those rear tire sizes are wrong as well. And it doesn't matter whether they rub or not. They are not spec'd within the margin of error for this car.

Thanks for the info ... I went with this size cause I wanted the sidewalls to be thick as possible (bad roads)

Would a 245/30/20 make the diameter of the front 0.7 shorter compared to a 35 series tire?

Actually, a 245/30/20 has a 1" smaller overall diameter than the tires you have now...and that's the exact OE spec for the front tires on the E9x M3.

I know what you were trying to do, but some decisions can backfire if you get carried away. While the intent was to get more protection against bad roads, the result was rubbing due to the excessive tire sidewall height.

The 245/30/20 tire size is the same as stock (which is plenty), and there will be no unintended consequences like rubbing.

thanks Le Mans for the great info!
Although, we stray away from the stock overall diameter sometimes, for aftermarket wheels, due to wider wheels, or even lack of sizing from certain tire manufacturers, we always try to stay within the certain boundaries in order to keep true to the the dyanmics of the original car.
