They are 40 mm studs. Here is a couple of pictures of 1 stud placed next to a factory sized BBS bolt. You can safely use up to a 15 mm spacer with them - possibly 18.

I'm interested and I did some research. Are you sure that you can run 40mm studs with spacers? Macht Schnell states "45mm length allows for the use of close-ended lugs & locks (Note: cannot be used with any spacer)"

I am certain you can safely run a 15 mm spacer based on the picture I took with the original BBS bolt. The spacer will just push the lug nut back 15 mm which will still leave more than the required 6 full turns on the BBS lug.
