M3 vs 650i

OK...well, there was no race but we did take both cars up to speed. I was on my way to work and the 650i came up on me pretty quick and rode my bumper for a minute...I figured I speed up to get out of his way and just pushed my pedal down...he stayed right on me so figured what the heck...lets see what he does. I kept on pushing the pedal down and allowing the car to accelerate naturally (keep in mind I didn't mash it) and he kept up pretty good until about 90ish in where I simply pulled away until we hit traffic. After that he wanted to fool around/race some more but with morning traffic wanted nothing to do with it...

I was surprised that he kept up pretty decently but since we are high geared and I didn't mash the accelerator is the reason he did so...I mean he fell off my rear bumper pretty decently right away but he wasn't falling back too much until over 90...not bad. I still love my E90 M3 wayyyyyyy better!

thoughts? I figured if I dropped it to 4th and mashed it I would have been long gone!

Though the 650 is a pretty heavy car, it still has a v8 pushing 360hp/360tq. The results sound about right. You weren't even in the optimal gear for acceleration and were still able to maintain your lead/pull away. I'm guessing his car was an auto so he was basically flooring it to keep up.

Draft and he might have smashed it just to keep up.
