Amuse Ericsson Ti Exhaust

Does anybody have any idea what the cost of this beautiful exhaust will be? I believe it to be the "arc of the covenant" or exhaust systems. Seeing how it is Japanese, and built for European vehicles, my guess is $5,000+. I wonder what the weight savings is.

Their website went live yesterday.

980,000 JPY. That is substantially more than I had anticipated. I don't imagine they will sell too many $10,000 mufflers. It sure is a work of art though.

With the exception that the tips are entirely blue. The overall setup reminds me alot of the e46 GruppeM Ti exhaust.

And I dig everything about it except for the space in my pocket where that $10k would be missing from.

10K is for the full header back exhaust... the cat back system is 6.5K and the tips can be customized for the seller. The level of blue can be adjusted or you can go with no blue...

Any performance numbers on this baby? heh

And, since my final decision is keeping the 19" rims till tires die, I can afford spending 10k on this. But only if the numbers warrant it.

Unless Amuse publishes real numbers, I'm guessing it will take take quite a while until they come available. I have ordered one of these exhausts, but delivery is a few months away (custom made, plus shipping). I plan to dyno the results after it arrives and is installed on my car.

With that in mind, I dynoed the car today to get a baseline. I will publish pics and data next week when I return home. Baseline was 412.5 HP (adjusted for chassis dyno calibration losses).
Thanks so much for the info

Another question, how is the companies English? I have studied Japanese for 3 years and can read basic Katakana/Hiragana.

If I call them at their website, how is their English support. For some reason, your confidence in the company is making me want to order one, the 980,000 Yen system.

Also, for that amount, did you CC# them, or offer deposit/paid in full?

Any details would be appreciated, since I am in the market for a top end exhaust. I can not speak Japanese, but can read/understand it. Please let me know how their department works!

Also, since I own a SSII, I willl want to go full blue. I think that would look crazy/cartoonish.

On a side note, this exhaust would work for the Sedan right? (E90)

You are looking at $11k+ for this exhaust in the US:

http://www.bulletproofautomotive.com...il.php?ID=6550

Also, keep in mind the ALMS car has 485hp, 71 more hp than stock. There is no way you are getting 40hp with an exhaust mod.

Thanks for the clarification. That's a different story then...

Sorry to bump this thread, but, to PencilGeek, willl this whole system work on the E90 Sedan? If it takes a couple of months, I woudnt mind to order this now! But only if it works on a sedan!

Edit: I live in the Vancouver, Canada Area. Doing a google, I dont even know who I can trust to do this for me...

Thanks for the quick reply, I will call Mon or Tues. I really like the package, it may be expensive, but you get what you are paying for.

* I am serious about ordering this *

Titanium has a much higher chance of cracking due to the brittle nature of the material. In otherwords, titanium can't withstand heat as much as stainless steel. As much as I loved the Amuse titanium exhaust on my old Honda S2000, there was one problem...it cracked once at a weld area so I had a local welder re-weld it w/a piece of titanium then sold it. A few months later, the buyer asked me where I recommend getting it welded since he had a crack in another area. From what I remember, he never had another crack/issue w/it afterwards but then again, this was 4-5 yrs ago.

Hence, I'll never ever buy another titantium exhaust again as much as I love the sound of titanium & weight savings. Not trying to knock on the Ericsson/Amuse, just explaining what I personally went through.

It's not really an Amuse issue specifically, it's more of all titanium exhaust issue in general. I've heard of other brands of titanium exhaust having the same exact issue I had.
