True. No hard feelings . I was just refering to this thread, about Road and Track's new M3. Fun Thread, lots of passion and diversity in opinions.

The current M3 is faster than the 335 (so don’t worry about the new one). If 0-60 is the concern consider waiting for the new C63. BMW can charge what they like and the waiting list will be long but they won’t as BMW is out to prove they have the best car in the category and will price it accordingly.

Um yes it is, once again let our opinions not get in the way of facts.

4 seconds on a 8 minute track lap isn't shit lots of factors like 1. 335 was on shitty runflats and smaller ones too and also 2. Some of that could be driver error. Being a previous 2004 E46 M3 owner the 335i is faster.

It is not. In a straight line or road course. In stock form the e46 m3 is SLIGHTLY faster. The e46 m3 is 100 lbs lighter and has 33 more hp. How can a heavier car with less hp be faster? There have been numerous videos of stock 335i's being beaten by stock e46 m3's. Procede ones are a different story. Those are way faster than an e46 m3.

this is so childish..."mine is better than yours"...IF you have to keep justifying to yourself why you drive a 335 and not an M, than you obviously made the wrong decision... how many M owners out there wish they had a 335??? My guess..not many. I reckon most M owners will be upgrading in the near future while all of the 335 owners will still be here justifying why they don't drive an M.

the 335i is a great car especially when it comes down to bang for your buck but the m3 will have to be a better performing vehicle for its sake in the model line up. The 335i has a major weakness that the m3 would take advantage of and that is heat. with out the proper cooling upgrades the 335 could and I stress COULD have problems. I am in no was saying it would cause I only know from second hand experience that it has this problem. Suspension wise BMW stepped up the performance bar once again and we dont know exactly what they have in store for us with the new m3 in that respects. I would believe that because its an M they would upgrade its suspension and tweak it for the best performance and daily drivability. As for tunability I believe the 335 would win hands down but once the M gets FI the tides would turn. this is a good thread so lets keep it fun:rocks: rock on! lol

Ummm, yeah. That is the whole point of offering a higher level model.

exactly thats why I wrote that. It doesnt make sense for a sub model vehicle to be a better performing vehicle than the exclusive M series which is known for its superior performance. so my money is on the new M3 and sadly not on the 335i. I was looking at purchasing the 335i but have decided to hold off for the M3.

R&T have an ESTIMATED time of 4.5 sec's.......Read it, it says 4.5est....

Reality is this car will equal the M5's times which I have seen range anywhere from 4.1 to 4.4 sec's....

This thread has devolved into a flame war.. What is it with people that want to insult other people's opinions? damn..

Point is, everything up to this point is SPECULATION. Your idea is not better than someone elses, and though I do disagree with many of you, I would never be brazen enough to disregard it as false.

You make some excellent points! Engage brain before posting might make this a more positive forum. If you drive any BMW it's all cool is it not?
