in a Z4 35is atm...

And all I can say is... Wow!

This thing is super fast, has an amazing note (Nothing on the M), crackles on the overrun and is a convertible to boot.

Would I take my coupe over it? Probably not, but if I was looking for a fast convertible dunno if I'd choose an E93 over it...

Thoughts?

It doesn't come with a manual, so never. Still a great car, though.

Yeah that was a deal-breaker for me too

I still don't understand why they did it that way. I mean, I know they wouldn't sell a whole lot. I remember that I was told by BMW officials when it came out that they couldn't offer a 6-speed, because they couldn't guarantee that the manual could hold the torque, which means they were afraid that they'd be replacing a shit ton of gearboxes under warranty.

They didn't like it to much, though, when I told them they were full of shit, and then when the 335is and 1 M came out, they didn't like that I rubbed that in, either.

Maybe. The article I was reading yesterday talked about what car makers will have to do on future models to keep them within the smog regulations in the upcoming years. They talked about how the newer transmissions help uphold these regulations that are becoming so stringent.
