Using regular towels to upkeep detailing?

If I plan on having my car detailed by professionals 4x a year with top of the line products. If I use a regular towel to wipe off sap, bugs, bird poop, etc between detailings and washes; will I damage the man's work? Just wondering if microfibers were required 100% of the time.

Paper towels are not good as they are made from wood fibers. A soft cotton towel is OK as long as you use a lubricant like Quick Detailer so you don't mar the finish.

DON'T DO THIS!!!!! Get some proper plush microfiber detailing cloths.

Microfiber towels are cheap. Use them to wipe your car as stated above.

avoid regular hand/bath towels and definitely avoid paper towels. (I don't even use those on windows as they leave smears).
