Quarter mile at Santa Pod.

Went to Santa Pod today. Went down with my mates in their cars, A45 AMG, M135i, new RS6, GTR.

1st and 4th runs were fastest. Two 12.9s at 110 mph. My mates A45 did 12.1 at 114 mph, 135i 12.8 at 109 mph, RS6 10.9 at 127mph and GTR 10.6 at 130 mph!

DCT. I wanted my mate to have a go but didn't have time. I weigh nearly 20 stone (280lbs) so I think it's capable of a better time with someone of average weight! I have a video of my second run where I tried launch contort! Big mistake, I spun it and nearly hit the wall on the opposite side of the track! It just spun off the line and when it selected 2nd the back end just went! Very frightening! I honestly done see the point in launch control!

MDM and S5 and just floor it! I was more than impressed with my mates dads RS6. Ill post the Vbox times!

Here are the videos. I'm a bit scared the wife will see them, don't think she would be happy. She wasn't happy about me doing it in the first place!

Yeah totally standard engine wise. I have Eibach springs and spacers plus comp rims. Like I said before, it would be interesting to see what it would do with a driver that is average weight and not 280lbs.

Cheers mate. Just shows how good the traction control is. Launch control in my opinion is a complete waste of time!

+1 I thought it was so cool how after the near wipe out you get back on your side of the track and step on it again!

Yeah man, congrats on not wiping out, but if you were using launch control, doesn't that necessarily mean that had traction control turned OFF?

I haven't used my LC yet, but you can be damned certain that IF I ever do, there will be nothing within about a quarter mile of me! LOL

The only way you can do LC is by turning TC off. You select S6 mode and push the leaver forward and hold it there, you then floor the throttle and when you're ready to go you release the lever!

The problem with it is simple! It's a compete waste of time! You take loads off your tyres and you can't change gear yourself. I think the reason I lost it was when it changed to 2nd, it unsettled the car and it was enough for it to step out. If I could change myself I'm pretty confident I could have caught it.

My advice is just select MDM, S5 and floor it! I've done a 4.3 0-60 on a Vbox using that method.

Close call lol I've had a similar situation like that before, but it was oil that was the culprit from a pos 95' maxima .
I suggest you get a gts dct tune. That alone will drastically change your rpms for launch control.
Launch control starts at 3500 and you can go up or down from there.
Also what tires are you using and what was your psi in your tires?
I put my tire pressure down to 25 psi and its very good for traction.
Check out my video to see how it causes almost no tire spin

I had normal tyre pressures. Mine holds it at 5k! Looking at your 60 foot it's not much quicker than mine was. What's yours like if you just use MDM and S5 mode? I have Michelin Super Sports.
