Do you have a US Specs 335?? If so was the car produced before 1 Jun 08? The reason I ask this, is because my 08 M3 Real Time Traffic Update works fine in my M3. But other friends that their 08 M3 was produced after 1 Jun 08 will not work with my disc in their car. There is no doubt in my mind that BMW jacked something up and don't know what they did or what changes they made. I truly love BMW cars, but when it comes down to it, after they sell you the car, "they have your money, they don't seem to care about the NAV System"....

The change over to the CIC started in September 2008 after the factory reopened and began 2009 model deliveries. So if the car was delivered after June but was a 2008 model, it would still have CCC. If that's the case, then its unclear to me why one 2008 car made pre-June 2008 would have RTTI and another one manufactured after June (with the CCC) would not.

I have also heard as noted elsewhere that some CCC and CIC cars had RTTI working until the software was updated/changed by BMW dealer and after that, no more RTTI.

Lastly: someone who picked up a new 7-series US-spec a couple of weeks ago in Munich was told that while RTTI information would not show up on the iDrive (in the traffic map and the traffic alerts), the "Dynamic Guidance" function would still work. It sounded like what they were being told was that the car was still receiving the regular traffic info (TMC not TMC+) and using that to route around traffic problems.

I have been testing this on my car since then and a couple of times, when I turned dynamic guidance on/off for a long journey, I saw a change in the route. Now I don't know if there is TMC data coming in (no sign of that on the display) or maybe the navigaiton maps have some info on them (based on the time of day) that selectes one route over another based on likely traffic patterns? I'm going to keep trying this and comparing it to what I see on googlemaps for traffic around here.

Back to Spain and NO radio in pair numbers... I ve read all the post and it seems that you guys have been trying hard to solve something that should be JUST a software change, like installing windows in a PC
Why do they do it so COMPLICATED??? After all the BMW consumers are the ones affected no one else...
European Auto Source please we beg you to do a software to solve this problem as Germans seems not to have any idea of what they do in their car radios!!

Regards from Spain

I got my CIC radio to work - I had it remotely coded, it took about 30 minutes .

Arrow BMW 135i hidden menu screens...

You can access the radio's hidden menu and select ECE under the reception menu... You will see USA, JAPAN, ECE and a fourth country(I forget)... select ECE and now your radio will receive German stations. Btw... you can also turn on both antennas as well!

Just turn on the radio and then right away press and HOLD the M button down until the radio screen changes.

I thought I saw BCS Diaz post a thing where he enabled the German traffic updates to the US Spec Navi.

I was really worried about this with my M3, until I got the all of the German stations on my wife's wagon and realized that the stations around Frankfurt all suck. No big deal now. we mainly just stream a stateside station through the phone.

i have a coder in Germany that coded my CCC US Spec 335i to accept TMC and Traffic Programme. i can vouch for this guy. He also coded my buddy's 550i 2012 to receive all the local over the air goodies as well as other cool stuff... I believe he has the latest CIC with RTTI

PM if interested.

Im talking to another one since i blew up my settings trying to code an alarm... i cant really vouch yet for the guy but he sounds like he knows a lot about these systems.

It can be coded. We have a fellow ///MFlight member that did mine but he returned to the US. There are guys here in Europe that can do it.
