Break In Period?
Hi guys, this question may sound stupid but can somebody explain to me what the break in period is? And how it can harm your car if you hit 8k rpm during the break in period? Many thanks !

The very simplistic way to look at it is: Dont push the car too much for the first 1200 miles. Don't Rev it too much and don't hit crazy speeds. Let the engine ease into use.

There is some debate to this apparently, but I am going with what the dealer told me and what the manual says. It says nothing over 5500 RPM's or over 106 mph for the first 1200 miles. I know for a fact that I have gone to 6500 RPM's at max one time only, and I've gotten it up to 130 mph once on the Autobahn. I do not make it a habit of that though. I've only revved the engine that high ONCE.
You'll find you have plenty of acceleration at 5500 RPM's, and it's been raining quite often here in Germany so anything too fast isn't safe anyway...
