High Milage m3s?

I'm curious to know who has a e9x m3 with high miles, I just came up on 40k and I want to know if anyone has had any problems, so far the car has been amazing with no real issues and I just wan to make sure once it's out of warranty it will be a hassle free car, I've been through 3 other ms with no real problems but I.was hoping for some feedback
If anyone has a high milage m3 please chime in

Well,
Let's make it a competition. Who has the most miles?

I'm at 48k. Mines been a PITA since day one. Right side daytime running light just went out yesterday. DCT clunks and can't make up it's mind. Various engine management problems. Front suspension has had a couple of problems. I'm dumping it back on BMW next month. But I'd say mines an aberation; not typical of the e90 M3s.

I still have faith in BMW, though. My e46 M3 was trouble free for 4 years and 70k miles. I have a new e90 M3 coming in August to replace the current one. So if you have a decent one, I have no doubt that it'll make 100k+ miles easily. Look on one of the e46 boards if you have any questions about reliability.

^^^Exactly. As long as you don't have a lemon and it's maintained even half-assedly (I think I just made that up) it should run damn near forever.

It would appear that E9X M3 has less issues than its younger sibling E9X 335

Definitely. HPFP = . The 335i is on its second one and has again begun the slow death march (yellow half filled engine light coming on once in a while).

I don't think I've ever heard of a trouble free German car that out of warranty I'm at 27k now and had no major issues but I know that the day I hit 50k, I should expect something to break soon after. That's just the way it always is.

From what I hear and based on my painful experience with 335i, I beleive M3 is more reliable than 335i by far. My car has been to the dealer 8 times and has only 25K highway miles, and never been tracked or abused. Besides that I get countless rattles and squics all over. That's why I have to keep the streo on way up so that I don't hear them.

I have owned a lot shitty cars and a lot of lux cars. By this car is the worst, nothing is even close. Unless I like the next gen of M3 (V6 turbo), this car will be my last BMW

44k miles..bought March 2008....only problem was the idle control valve sensor came loose at 8k miles and the warning light came up. Dealer fixed and no probs after. Its my daily driver/race car. I beat the shit out of it. Go through tires every 4 months, but runs like a champ!

Not sure if you're aware but BMW now offers an extension on the warranty from 4 years 50k miles, up to 6 years 100k miles. I think it's about $3k to do it. It extends the service plan and roadside assistance as well. But you have to do it while the original warranty is still intact I believe. Contact you're dealer about it. I will definitely do it when the time comes. You're bound to have a problem or two past 50 k miles and any little thing on these cars is not cheap to fix.

Just bought my 11, and the Service plan was $3295. The extended warranty (to 6/100000) was frickin $5000+. And that's not even the highest level, as I don't have iDrive. So for tech package it was around $6K.

Instead of spending $8K+, I just went and bought a 06 Honda for my 100 mile daily commute.

I have 30k on mine now. This car makes more noises than any car i've ever owned before. The only issue that bothers me is occasional engine knock / ping. Other than that, the car runs great. I will be racking up the miles now as my son just joined a traveling ice hockey team that will take us to Chicago, Philly, Detroit, and Toronto.

Off topic, but is manual trans oil change part of the 30k service? My car is at the dealer now having the 30k service done.
