Was driving on the 101 and saw a chp speed up to get next to me... I thought oh man he's going to pull me over for something ( exhaust, tint , no front plate)... Got on his microphone and said nice m3 gave me a thumps up and left. Great moment

Here in Syracuse the only heads that turn are from car enthusiasts - most people here are sooooo car illiterate they think I'm a regular three series- which is fine with me

Get quite a lot of attention/compliments, especially when it's sunny out and SGraph turns into a chameleon color. Had a guy in a beat up pick up truck ask me "Is it fast?" and "Is this the one with the V6 in it?".
If anything, I love watching the reflection of the car as I drive by shop windows.

I know my car is getting attention when I keep coming back to it and I find mysterious fingerprints, especially on the glass.

I live in Redondo Beach and there aren't too many in the South Bay. This thing draws attention everywhere. Constantly have people stopping next to me at lights and starting conversations, thumbs ups, pictures, etc. The funny part is that no one really ever tries to race. I prefer it that way though because I have nothing to prove and dont feel like drawing attention from the cops. The only attention I get from cops here is thumbs ups, even with exhaust, full tint and no front plate - gotta love the relaxed attitude of them in the SB!

Only true car enthusiasts would know what our car is all about. When I drove my Z4 I got noticed a lot, in my M3 only by enthusiasts and I like it that way. I purchased this car for my needs not others

The M gets a lot of attention. Even more now since I have added all the carbon fiber goodies, black GTS wheels and x pipe. I have one of the more subtle exterior colors, but the exhaust is loud. People constantly make comments, ask me about mods, etc. Plenty of idiots in civics trying to race as well. I think a lot of it has to do with the area you live in. I'm about 70 miles east of DC and I've never seen another E9x M3 around here. It is an undeniably good looking car, though.

i get my fair share of attention... but its mostly from dudes... i've been out with a buddy of mine who owns an e92 m3 in black and everytime we travel together, people always look at my car first... i guess red just attracts more attention then black, grey, silver, etc. but it doesnt get me any more chicks, so i guess it doesnt really matter that my car gets more love.
unfortunately the car was sold a month and half ago.

I'm in Atlanta... I like my M3 but really, its very common here and when I was in Houston, it was common as well. That's why I bought it used.. It does get noticed at car meets but that's about it.. Too much like a 335 for the general populace since they don't know any better. Now, once I get my Meister GT2 on and all the rest of the mods complete, it might be a turner' but I enjoy it for now because I don't really notice whether its getting looked at... I don't think i'm anything special.. Not looking around and minding my own business is a type of piece of mind in a way.

Totally.. I'm in Vinings and when I roll through Buckethead its like I'm driving a Civic.. lol.. ok, that's a little carried away but I've noticed the same. What I do notice is that hardly any are seriously modified so its interesting..

Hmmm..that's interesting because I just realized the same thing. My wife had a prius and I would arrive at my destination with high blood px as I was constantly cut-off in traffic. I wonder if it's a subconscious thing and people don't know they're doing it.
