My experience has been just the opposite. Less hydroplaning and better performance in the wet.

+1, that's my seat-of-the-pants feel as well. Of course, typically when you change tires you are going from worn out ones to full tread depth, and it can be hard to remember exactly how your old tires were new. I do agree with the increased ride harshness compared to PS2s.

Also, didn't Northern California have unusually cold weather with the most recent storms? If so, you could also be noticing the fall off in cold weather performance of your summer tires.

yeah, i took those factors into account (temp around 40 degrees, first big rain in a while, etc.). we'll see.
the guy who installed the vredesteins was a big michelin honk and could not stop going off on what a disservice i was doing to a great car by installing these tires. asshole was just shaking his head the whole time he was working on the tires.

that left a nagging feeling (particularly why he had to really place the balancing weights so conspicuously on the wheel?), but for now i'll be patient and trust the guys on this forum. thanks for the feedback.

Ok, you'll know more after about 800 miles. Yeap, there are A,holes everywhere (he was probably just missing his profit on the Michelin's). The TPMS sensors pretty much guarantee that there will be some weight added almost every time. This a big thread. I don't recall anyone having balance issues with the Vred's. I spend quite a bit of time on DFW Auto Club. Several people there have Vred's too (on a variety of cars). Everybody is happy with them that I've come across. Let us know how it goes for you.

I'm convinced...I want a set of Vreds today. But what size should I order? I have the stock 19" wheels on my 2009 M3 sedan. The stock wheels are 245/35-19 and 265/35-19. However, the Vreds don't come in 265/35-19.

Any recommendations on alternative tire sizes for the 19" M3 wheels?

Also, I want to add spacers. I have been told to get 18mm up front and 15mm in the back with PS2's. Not sure if the Vreds will make any difference.

What psi/bar front and back are people running. I have 245/35/19 on the front and 275/30/19 on the back. No rubbing.....

The vredestein.co.uk website recommends 2.9 bar on the front tyres but no mention of the rears, anyone????

I run stock recommended pressures for street use and it seems to work well.

I've had my 255/35 & 275/35-19s on just under 2 years and about 18k miles (no track). Fronts are at 7/32" and rears at 1/32". Wear is perfectly even side to side on 9" F & 10" R wheels at stock pressures. I was thinking of going to PSSs, but I decided to put on a new set of rears since the fronts are pretty good ($500 vs. $1,400).

My initial impressions are borne out - these are great tires, wet or dry, especially great given the price.

They're great tires regardless of price, but when you factor in price, it's a stupid good tire.

They stick similar to the PS2's but they last WAY longer than PS2's.

They don't stick as well as NTO5's, but my NTO5's are a little wider and won't last nearly as long. I tracked them
In some serious heat and never felt they got greasy like the PS2's.

I have tracked both, and in my case the Vred's performed as well and do not degrade as fast. I think they are great tires.

You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??"
