Challenge - GT Front Spoiler in urethane - Interested? Let us know! - WE MADE IT! :)

Challenge - Urethane GT Front Spoiler - Interested?

We have been looking at out projects for 2014 and one that we are looking to get started in the next month is a urethane front spoiler for the E9X M3. There really aren't any out there except for a few random ebay knock offs of random hamann ones usually from what I see.

We are asking the M3 post members here to see who would be interested in our GT carbon front lip, but in urethane. We realize our lip is slightly on the aggressive side so the urethane construction would allow this lip to take a lot more bumps and bruises on the road for those that don't need or want the carbon finish.

Pricing would be around the $495-$595 range likely and would come painted in satin black ready to install. As with our other parts, this too will be made in the USA.

We want to bring some new solutions to the market for you guys and I have heard a lot of guys ask about urethane lips since they can take more abuse and are generally less costly than carbon spoilers.

Now is the time to let us know If you're interested in such an item from Challenge!

This would be perfect for track applications.

I'd buy the less aggressive version in urethane in a heartbeat! Having a lowered car in San Francisco makes it pointless to spend $1000+ on a nice CF lip.

I would be interested. I've gone threw 2 carbon lips already and one being the Challenge. It is by far my favorite lip, so if it is in urethane ill take it!

This x100. I had a urethane lip on my STi and it took all kinds of abuse from shitty roads and autox cones. Something like that for the M3 would be fantastic without spending 1k. Gloss, satin or unpainted it doesn't matter, I'd get one.

This would be a great option considering the abuse the front of the car takes just from daily driving. I only have two suggestions.

First, make it so that it does not need to be painted (similar in color and texture to the stock lips on the E36 M3's). It seems that the purpose of a urethane lip is so that it will hold up both structurally and aesthetically over time, and my concern with paint is that it will chip and look not-so-great in a relatively short time.

Second, it may not be cost effective but offering both agressive and less agressive options would be nice.

^Agreed. I don't want to have to paint it.

Greg, Your lip has always been my 1st choice, but I never bought it simply because it's too aggressive for my ride height.

The finish we are looking at is a satin black paint with a flex additive so that it can take the rashes and bending without flaking off etc. The urethane lip material is black so any rashes or chips wouldn't be glaring. I would prefer to leave it in a raw black plastic finish as well but It's nearly impossible to get the quality and uniformity of finish I would like without using injection molding with ABS plastic. It would make the project cost and prohibitive to do it this way.

This. Please make it a little less aggressive! Especially at that price point, it would be hard to look else where.

I'd definitely consider a urethane lip over a cf lip

I would look for a less aggressive version in urethane... but given that the car already rubs the front without a lip, whatever I add would get destroyed in no time anyway.

I'd buy one immediately if you made the version with the brake ducts in urethane. Hell I'd buy two. But you already know this.

The challenge lip has always been my favorite, but the CF one won't survive street use. Probably not track use either as one off will kill it.

Definitely interested in a urethane version. And maybe if you could make it slightly less aggressive with more ground clearance it would be perfect!!
