Im thinking it some kind of issue with the power. What is the question because I'm not sure. Most of you guys are saying when you disconnect it and then reconnect it, it works. So a quick fix might be routing an inline switch in that turns the power on and off, yes it sucks to have to press another button to turn it on and yes its just a bandaid. Its better than nothing!!

Im going to try tomorrow, to see what happens when i disconnect the power to the wheel and then reconnect it.

UPDATE: I unplugged the JBE plug this morning which is where my power is coming from and the wheel worked perfectly on the next start up.

Im thinking about looking for a different power source, Is everybody in this thread running power from the JBE 3 and 6?

See if it work again tomorrow, as mine worked after unhooking the battery as well. And continued to work that day, but failed the next.

It already stopped working(EDIT: this time im not sure it wasnt working, as I was on the menu screen so no shift lights anyway)

Going to rewire it tomorrow, In my mind this is not the right place for it to be wired too.

Just got in the car again and it works, cycled it a few times and it never stopped working

I guess I will check it again later.

I havn't looked in the glove box again, but for shits and giggles Im going to wire it where my V1 is(switched power) and see what happens with the memory

Can u be more specific of which fuse number? Keep in mind that it takes a good 12 hours of the car sitting for a cycle.

If you look at the picture. There are 3 blocks of 10 fuses on the top. The center of these blocks has an open spot in the bottom row at the center. I don't have the numbers infront of me. Its right under the red fuse

I just changed my wiring over tonight, It worked fine. Tomorrow will be the test

For anybody thats going to be making this switch, the clips bmw supplies are virtually impossible to take apart. So your options are to cut them apart very carefully or just snip the wire for the wheel and tape the ends.

For anybody that is going to do this, DO NOT wire to the JBE module. Go buy an Add A Fuse, make sure you have some wire showing(do not crimp through insulation), Crimp the power line into the add a fuse and plug into the constant power source shown below. For a ground use the bolt off to the left side of this picture(not shown) which should be a hex 20.

Give us a day by day deal here, if it always works, has occasional issues. We will all send you a Snickers for figuring it out

I guess BMW wasnt kidding this time when they said the wheel does not work with DCT.

Started the car up just now...no lights

Reset the fuse and it works ....Looks like ill be installing a switch to reset it with ease.

The old wheel worked perfectly! Got to be some fix that works, or we'll see when 1sickM gets a new one if it works. Are we the only ones with the problem? I have seen many other DCTs with the wheel but have not heard of any problems with theirs.
