Not to threadjack, but Tom is one of the good guys. Maybe this product doesn't work for people, I don't plan on buying it, but he is a stand-up businessman in general. I remember his tremendous customer service with the Ice-Link (Ipod integration) in the Audio forum on E46fanatics.com. I am not a sponsor fanboy by any stretch, as I was pretty much banned for calling Bavarian Soundwerks out for some shady products and marketing on that board (and will probably now get a boot here, I'm guessing), but I just wanted to chime in to balance out some of the negativity in this thread.

I completely agree that he is a great guy. He has been extremely helpful in the couple of times that I have had to call him for assistance....That said, I think their product got off on the wrong foot given all of the confusion early on. Cant say that I would have ordered it had I know it didnt integrate with CA - however, I have found the other features somewhat useful.

PS - please come out with a reflash that will allow it to be used with CA.

It's a possibility - how about you send me a list of features you would like to see to my email and if they are possible via can bus, I'll make it happen.

Without our customers and the people that support us - we wouldn't be here.

Good to see you on here, and thanks for the feedback.

I wasn't intending to be negative, just factual about the situation the way I see it. I'm sure it's a great product and it seems like it was engineered well. I sounds like the manufacturer fully backs it product to include future upgrades. Much like the V1 radar detector, which can always be upgraded to new technologies for the lifetime of the detector.

To pull together a few of the posts above, Tom, can you integrate the Valentine 1 remote display into the CAN BUS like it was done on the I BUS? (Like the StealthOne - http://www.stealthone.biz/) I have the communication protocols laying around somewhere. That would be a product that you could sell the hell out of. I'm thinking that it's not doable, though, as nobody has seemed to tinker with the AV systems on any CAN BUS systems lately.

Actually I've seen Tom@EAS's posts before and the quality has been universally positive. I'm disappointed after the buildup of this product that it doesn't integrate with CA, but again, I will be interested in a version 2.0 that does, if the price is right. I look forward to any developments.

canbus works a bit differently and is a completely different world than ibus. However, we are a bit more equipped this round to make some things happen.
