How do you remove wheels studs?

I am trying to remove my wheel studs. I was able to remove half of them but with the red locktite I stripped out the other half of the 5mm allen heads. I am going to try to use double nuts but how do I apply torque when the hubs spin freely? Any help would be appreciated.

Tighten the double nuts with separate wrenches tightly together then turn the nut closest to the hub only. The key is that, the nuts have to be tight by turning them in opposite directions.

How do you prevent the rotor from spinning?

I put a hammer or something sturdy and long between the studs in a way that the hammer would wedge against the ground and prevent the hub from spinning. You obviously can't remove all of the studs or the last one won't be able to be removed. Get them loose but don't remove completely until the last one is loose. The rear hub won't spin with the e-brake on.

exactly i double nut with an impact to get snug then stuff a screw driver in between the rotor and hat so it wedges then back them off. not sure how this procedure will go with the stoptechs however. maybe use screwdriver stuck into the vanes and prevented from turning by the caliper or ground.

Heat melts the locktite as well. I've done the above method, as well as heating with a torch too. They come out really easy that way.

good tip! But this requires a lot of tools to manage. Because I plan on going with no more mods, I am also selling all my tools.

I wedged in the top portion of the handle of a jack in between the seat and brake pedal to give it pressure while each stud was double nutted and then removed like that. They come out pretty easy after you break them loose.

Have someone sit in the car and apply the brakes.

In the future use heat to break the bond of the loctite beforehand. I use a 400F heatgun and it seems to really help, easier/safer than a torch.

A man should never sell his tools. Cars, car mods, etc are sellable but tools are what make a man a man

He's out of his mind, plus lose the chance at the illusive double nut.

The next time you (or someone else, considering you are selling your tools ) have to do this, try using an impact gun with an impact hex key and use short bursts on the gun. Much less chance of stripping. Took mine right off with no trouble.

I got my off...well Malek at MRF got mine off. Lesson learned - do NOTuse red locktite.

However, Double nutting works!

You can try removing by double nutting, with the stud at the 3:00 or 4:00 position and having the wrench horizontal, handle towards the 9:00 position, or vice versa with the stud at the 8-9:00 position and the wrench handle at the 3:00 position. This should prevent the rotor from spinning.

The problem with blue is that it is not rated to the temperatures the hub might see and will break down. All stud kits are shipped with high temp red.

True and despite the fact that they are difficult to remove, I intend to continue to use red loctite on my studs.
