I guess the only real solution is gmo labeling. That way those that want to avoid them can do so, and those that don't care can continue eating whatever they want. Then the only real question is how do we make sure non gmo crops don't get contaminated. We definetly don't want 100% of our seeds to be GMO, because then there is no going back. To those that say contamination is not a problem that is wishful thinking.

There is another event on May 24 2014. If you click on events you can most likely find your country.

that shows how little you actually know. Buying organic food isn't going to make you any smaller that depends on your diet, and you can actually eat all the same foods without eating GMO's. You just have to know where to shop.

Only a few will get what BMW325I is trying to say. Bottom line is people don't want to be told what to put in there mouth. People who eat what they want have no self control, there food is a drug. Cancer is UP, Heart disease is UP, Depression UP, More lazy people than ever, think about it maybe its the food your putting in your mouth. DUUHHH Take care of yourself, get off the couch and eat good food, NOT chemicals.

Tami Canal is a batshit crazy save-the-planet libtard who started this bullshit because she didn't get her way on proposition 37. Like most tree-hugging environmentalist agitators, she has not now, nor has she or her cohorts and supporters ever objectively weighed the practical ramifications of this stupid campaign she's promoting. The implementation costs alone from the prop 37 deal were staggering and had no scientifically supported means of justification. The cost of NOT using GMOs in today's agriculture environment would be equally staggering to the economy as a whole, with no demonstrable benefit except making the greenies feel better.

What a load of BS.

Out of curiosity, what do you think are the negative ramifications of consuming food derived from GMO's, bmw325i?

I'm just curious to see what lay people think. I promise I won't badger you about your viewpoints or anything. This is purely out of curiosity.

Many of the studies done on animals show negative health effects, and there hasn't been any studies proving GMO's are safe.

Obviously by eating roundup ready or bt corn you are putting more toxins in your body than eating pesticide free corn. Eventually these toxins and others found in our food supply will lead to cancer.

One major concern relates to several recent studies linking GMOs to intestinal disorders. For example, Monsanto engineered certain toxins into their genetically modified foods which kill insects by puncturing holes in their cells. Unfortunately, those toxins have the same effect on humans.

This is not hype or conjecture. It is proven scientific fact.

Thanks for the recent support on this thread. Finally enough people around the world are starting to realize the truth in order to do something about it.

Right now the FDA is getting ready to approve genetically modified salmon for human consumption. Here are a few reasons we should be concerned about this.

1. As usual no testing has been done to ensure genetically modified salmon is safe to eat.

2. Recent testing shows that gm salmon is higher in fat, and lower in omega 3/6 and several vitamins.

3. Each year roughly 2 million farm raised salmon escape into the open ocean. Genetically modified salmon can still reproduce with normal salmon and even wild brown trout. This could possibly be the end of non genetically modified salmon and trout if something doesn't get done soon.

4. Big corporations aren't concerned about this, because they want everything to be 100% GMO. Genetic modification allows them to patent our food which means more profit for them.

I hear ya. Been watching some monsanto articles for a while.
Seems like the typical evil corporation that the government has control over.
What really confuses me is how they can get away with patent enforcements. They patent their seed, their crap GMO seed blows over to a near by farm and infects their crop. Monsanto will sue them, make them a client or ruin their farm. How the hell does that happen?

People will likely label it as hippy stuff. But I'm more of a fat, tin foil hat, doomsday prepper sort of person.
There a lot of evidence already showing how GMO fucked up Bee's and screwed up plant pollination.

I try to eat more organic stuff. Almost all of it tastes way better than the usual stuff.
I do like the organic meats, Grass fed beef/bison is pretty good.

I also filter the fluoride out of my water, but that's another interesting story

/tin foil hat

Ps: worth looking at. More of a neutralish point of view. Plus it has Bill Nye, Ms.Frizzle's husband.

Can you name one study besides the thoroughly debunked French rat study?

I already addressed your other points

That's a terrible reference. There's a blatant conflict of interest.

I already knew somebody was going to say that. That's why I didn't look too hard

If its not obvious that pesticides and herbicides are bad for you then I don't know how to show you that they are. Glyphosate was bad, but this year farmers are starting to use more toxic chemicals because glyphosate isn't working anymore.
