Why buy ADV1 when you can get an MHT brand?

Since MHT makes ADV, and MHT isn't trying to cover up their TUV certifications and lack of engineering. Wouldn't it be smarter to purchase from MHT since they make ADV anyways?

If it's going to take 4-6 months to get your ADV, probably be cheaper and faster to just purchase MHT brand wheels?

This actually makes me wonder what happened to adv on this forum. Since the whole certification thing I haven't seem them around the forums at all. Their rep got hurt so bad and now it looks like its about to get even worse

OP, you are right. Why would you want to buy a wheel from a company that doesn't make it? Then again there are dozen or so companies out there that don't produce their own.

I have no idea why people don't just buy BBS or HRE if you are spending that kind of money. Seems like ADV1 wheels take a huge BEATING on price in the secondary market also.

Because people have different tastes and styles which BBS and HRE may not offer. HRE is a relatively small business in comparison to BBS, Enkei, and some of the other major brands. Dont get me wrong they make nice forged wheels but so do a shit load of other people.

There have been plenty of HRE and BBS wheels that sat for sale on this forum for months. If the price isnt right it wont sell doesnt matter what brand. Also what style of wheel and what condition they are in plays a major part in the equation.

Either way some of those NICHE wheels look good and may have to pick a set up next time around.

MHT probably provides the wheel parts but ADV still owns their designs, there are few companies manufacturing their own barrels and centers i.e. CCW, all the other wheel companies probably get their lips and barrels and forged centers from one distributer but what differs from all the wheel companies are their designs, yes they all have similar designs but there are only so many designs that you can create that are actually aesthetically pleasing such as: 7 and 8 spoke mesh, 5 spoke, split 5 spoke, 10 spoke, mesh 5 spoke, etc.

+1000000 let's just face it...hre and bbs is probably the top of the line route you can go. Everything else looks like crap IMO because every design out there can be done better by bbs and hre. Im not saying companies like vmr or dpe are bad but if I'm spending more than oem rim money I'm going to buy bbs/hre

There are plenty of wheel companies that do all their own engineering, design work, and machining in their own facilities.

ADV headquarters are in Florida and they have their designer/president Jordan (formerly of 360 Forged). Wheels are manufactured in Southern California in MHT buildings on MHT machines.

Agree with others, your hard earned money would be better spent elsewhere.

Even more amusing. MHT owns DUB wheels.

Here is the new MHT DUB.1 wheels. Designed by ADV, made and sold by MHT.

Looks kinda familiar.

ah you are right. it may just be the angle and lighting on this pic, but they are terrible looking compared to the similar adv.1 design
