I get 15 mpg, if I'm lucky. It will dip down to 13mpg on occasion. The fuel economy on this car is horrendous if you drive the way it's meant to be driven. I think it might be worse than my wife's Land Rover.

I agree that 13-14 city driving is average. Highway 17-18 if you drive in a spiritedly/aggressive style. If you baby the car, sure you can touch 20 but if you're trying to hypermile an M3 you don't deserve to own one.

We were driving 75-80mph the entire way back in 6th, notwithstanding a run-in w/a 370z, a Carrerra, and a few open highway "getting to know the car" jaunts. Not hyper-miling by any means.

I normally have the car in D5, 95% of my driving is city driving, stop-n-go, but not gridlock. I averaged 18.3mpg on my last tank. I'm not easy on the gas either, I accelerate up to speed briskly knowing that the engine is closer to peak efficiency, and then try to keep my cruising speed.

I've tried D3, and using very light throttle, my gas mileage dropped to 16.7mpg w/ 95% city.

It pays to live in a flat area and approx 15ft above sea-level Also, I normally get 25mpg steady state 70mph, again, no hills here, and the highways are 3-4lanes so it's normally smooth cruising.

I don't know what you guys call "city" but my commute is from NYC to Queens and is about 7.5 miles each way. There are lights and traffic and the 59th Street (Ed Kotch) Bridge in there. Before I was supercharged if I never had highway driving during a normal work week I would get just above 10 MPG and I am afraid to calculate the last 2 weeks with the supercharger. I have seen 22 MPG when it was ALL highway before the supercharger and if there is a combination I see 14-16 MPG.
