+1 on the mustang

but as far as the grammar, it actually is "an ST," not "a ST"

pretty elementary

ford was correct.

in the first take they used a civic M3 and it lost badly
so they had to whip out the big guns and use a ZCP

i always thought an is to be followed by only words that start with vowels but i just did a quick search and apparently abbreviations should be taken into consideration based on how they sound not what they actually start with. the basic rule was elementary but i never knew about the abbreviation rule. that's kinda stupid but so is the english language

Before abbreviations, the choice of "a"/"an" depends on how
the abbreviation is pronounced: "a NATO spokesman" (because "NATO"
is pronounced /'neItoU/); "an NBC spokesman" (because "NBC" is
pronounced /Enbi:'si:/) "a NY spokesman" (because "NY" is read as
"New York (state)").

pretty elementary

Ford has definitely been stepping up their game. We rented a Taurus recently visiting California and for the first time the car didn't feel like a cheap American rental.

The focus has crazy mod potential. Not sure about the ST but has anyone seen ken block drive this car? Absolutely freaking insane...

Ford Recall, Recall, Recall

Has anyone noticed all the recent recalls Ford had on the new Escape, Focus etc. Its all in the engineering and producing a safe and quality product.

Cool commercial. I am really happy to see that sub $30k "sporty" car market is making a comeback. I remember how much I loved my Integra GS-R back in the day. Cars like this, FRS/BRZ are bringing the fun back into driving for all.

I will give you the benefit of the doubt, and will categorize your post as sarcastic...

otherwise:
this commercial is nothing like what you think...
it's actually playing on breaking the common stigma and other general old beliefs...

I guess you didn't got affected by Ford's message and what they were trying to say huh??
I totally missed out and thought it was a simple ST vs M3 ?

Hint: it wasn't... It's "Fun" vs "Money"

If I walked from a shelby what makes ford think in there right might i would consider a focus lmao. There trying to target the wrong group with the m3 in the commercial, because anyone that can afford an m3 will get one and not consider a focus
I agree with your point of view all the way.... .... up to your very last sentence:

Ford is NOT targetting the group you are thinking off....
They are not trying to take away the M3 population....

Ford is actually trying to steal away BMW's potential, younger, Munich-loving-virgins out there

Ford is actually trying to convinced those "unknowledgeable" crowds of younger generation of new drivers looking for fun cars to drive...
and so we are talking about Generation Z (currently at 16 to 24, male, AND female).

Ford is trying to show those people that there is a more qualified alternative to the current standards that are WRX, GTi, and Speed3.

Ford is simply trying to step over all those cars to become the reference for those younger generations.

They are not trying to convince those of us of know better...
Ford is just trying to acquired virgin territory...

To show them that they can get the same fun and involvement than an M3 will furnish them, but instead of waiting to realize their drive at higher price,
you can get the same thing for much less money, realizing your desires NOW with the ST.

simply put.

I am sure Ford took your rejection into consideration fully when they developed this commercial.

In all honesty, Ford clearly set it's handling target on the M3 for the 2011 Mustang GT, and by all reviews did quite well on the job.
