Just returned from euro delivery
pictures added, I think!
After 6 months of reading this forum daily and finally ordering our m3 coupe, my family and I did European Delivery this past week and it was awesome! We ordered our car through David Aviles - the process was easy and he was very patient with my gazillion questions throughout the process! My coupe is aw/fr (another m3post edition I guess - read a post about that while we were at the welt!) 6mt. The car is absolutely amazing! We went from Munich to Elba island off the coast of Tuscany and back to Munich - 1203 miles so the vpc will do the 1200 mile service before I pick it up at the pdc (all these acronyms!!) I know this thread is worthless without pics, how do I post them from this phone app? I know I know I tried to search or rtfm (I've introduced that particular acronym into the vernacular at work!) but either I'm not too savvy (quite possible) or its. It possible from app. ED observations: Rolf your country was awesome and I was able to remember more of my college German than I thought I would. I even had to use German in Italy - including of all things talking cars with a couple from Macedonia in a 320d coupe - they didn't speak English and I don't speak their language but German it was! The m3 coupe gets a ton of a attention in Europe - lots of thumbs ups, stares, waves, questions, etc. That was pretty wild. The car really shines in the corners, curvy mountain passes were awesome! I think that's about it for now, I'll end this stream of consciousness first post, oh yeah - Julie buy your car, quit waiting, it's a blast and you won't regret it!!! Great to hear you had an awesome time in your ED.
Your M3's twin sister (AW/ext FR) will soon follow your tiremarks in two weeks or so. Also did through David. Cant recommend him enough. Welcome back and post lots of pics when you get a chance so we can |

I too took my wife and daughter (10 yrs old, 11 in September), no worries on luggage, roominess of car, etc etc. Hopefully you got nav, it was invaluable - if you return your car to loginout Munich, your turn is actually the one past the one indicated on nav, ask me how I know!!

Thanks for the heads up. It's very reassuring to see that more and more families with kids manage it and make it all work. Definitely it's a balance act. Hope your daughter enjoyed the trip. They're so lucky to be part of something like this at a so young age... Yes, I got nav and will return the car at Loginout in Munich. I could certainly use your help. Did you get thrown off really bad?? |

Fantastic. I'll also second that David was great. Best price by far and a very decent salesman through the whole process.

As far as returning the car, nav will say turn now into parking lot but about 500 ft past that is the real entrance. It's not bad just a little confusing, there is a photo of the actual entrance on the handout, just follow that - it has address and a picture of the Grand Kempinski. The nav was awesome the rest of the time except sometimes it didn't know there was a roundabout. Just make sure your wife is an accomplished navigator. Bring your USB stick with music on it and you can upload them into your car from the USB in glove box, frees up the one in the glovebox if you need to charge your child's iPod and forgot the 12 volt adaptor!! |

Welcome back. Euro delivery is the balls but....
Just kidding. I don't think there is anyway to post a pic from the iphone app. Once you get on a computer, the easiest way is to go advanced and then clip on the little paperclip thing. That will bring up a little window where you can search on your computer for the picture file and then upload it. The little picture icon with a mountain and sun on it are if you have the pictures hosted on an external website.

I have entertained the idea of visiting Maranello since I will be driving from Merano to Como... but dont know yet. Great your girls had a great time! By the way, I was an avid F1 fan back in heydays of the '80s with Piquet, Mansell, Senna, Prost, Patrese, etc... You must've had a terrible time being a Ferrari fan those days when the Williams and Mclaren dominated F1... not so much these days... Car looks awesome. Waiting for more details and pics. Cheers |

Mansell you say? Here's his car, from 1989 I believe. My brain is a little rusty at times and I was in such stupor at the Museum I didn't read the plaques! Oddly I remember the race though - Brazil I believe, it was the season opener, first race of post-turbo era, Mansell won with the first successful application of sequential paddle shift transmission.
Dude, you're going to have a total blast. If you get lost, and you likely will, F-it, its better to be lost in Germany or Italy than stuck at work right?! Those crazy Italian drivers are like everyone says, tailgating wonders and those Vespas - fuggedaboutit, they are absolutely positively crazy! |
