In the e90post detailing forum one of the stickies mentions how to wash the car in the winter... guy recommends a touchless auto wash for several reasons.
This thread I agree about the rails, though. Scrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrape.

I dont like doing it but there are many good washes on long island I personally find wetbury car wash to be the best and i would say number two would be miami car wash. my 750's wheels are wider and they dont scratch so dont sweat it

I don't have my M3 yet but for my 325....
In between my personal weekend hand car washes I take my car right down the street to a laser touch-less carwash ($6). It is one of those that you park in and the machines moves around your car. No rails, no brushes and no guys hand drying your car with a sandpaper terry cloth towel.

don`t do it it`s not worth it those places use cheap shampoo cheap evrything and I would suggest not to dry the car after a wash like that because that pressure wash will not remove all the dust and other particles that can harm the paint when drying . If u wash it once a week (by hand ) and put a wax evrey 3 months you`ll be fine but don`t go to those places where they start washing your car from the bottom . good luck
