Wassup Fellow Forum members As the Title states it is that time again!

Last year, Matt (Randomquickness) wrote a thread, this year I'll use most of his same thread but tailor it for this years Central Texas MFest Caravan.

alright Texans! MFEST 7 will be Memorial Day weekend of May 24-26th!

I will update this thread accordingly. Last year we repped TX well, this year we're putting TX on the map!

We are meeting the DFW & H-town crew in Fort Worth on Wednesday May 22nd at 8:00am and depart at 9:00am, spend the night in the Route 66 Casino just west of the city of Albuquerque, New Mexico (10.5 hour drive), and arrive in Las Vegas Thursday afternoon on the 23rd (7.5 hour drive).

This will give us time to get settled in and get the cars shined up before the events. We should depart sometime Monday and stop somewhere to sleep on the return trip (TBD as from experience, some of us recover from the weekend differently).

Now last year, there was confusion on the meeting spot in Ft.Worth. the McDonald address was a mile from the Highway when there was one off the exit on the opposite side. well this year, we will meet right off the highway at a mongolian grill called the Genghis Grill with plenty of parking and a smooth entry onto the highway on our exit!

Items to consider bringing with you:
- helmet
- Motorola 2-way radios
- Radar Detector
- Basic tools for your car
- Spare tire (if you have it)
- 5 hour energy shots
- snacks
- A Cooler w/ YOUR Favorite drinks in it
- Batteries & there charger
- AAA for the unexpected or
- The phn number to an Auto transporter/broker just in case catastrophy strikes and you need your vehicle brought back home
- EMERGENCY FUNDS if possible

**also, if you live anywhere south of Killeen and would like to stay at my house Tuesday night before we leave just let me know.

pricing last year was:

$150 (males) $60 (females) to register
$145/night (4 nights for the TX folks) for the hotel
$60 for drag strip
$160 for the road course

The only thing that's mandatory is registration but from personal experience I highly recommend staying at the Hotel that is selected as the "Host" Hotel as it is the hub for all things MFEST during the trip.

Obviously, splitting the hotel room with someone is a quick way to save money.

For those of you new to MFest and you live in Texas my name is Shady1 (James) I am the MFest Texas Chapter rep. I will be leading the caravan to Las Vegas with some help from other key MFest Texas Chapter members such as Leonelhpfm3 (Rico) and 2005M3driver (Gus) we will be working together making sure everything works out good on the drive to Vegas. Last year we had a few break downs that cause a small delay in time but it was okay , because in MFest we treat everyone like family and leave no one behind on our way to Las Vegas. We always learn new things on these trips and from the last trip we know to bring some type of trailer to haul a vehicle in the event of a break down and we are going to bring our own BMW mechanic just in case :shifty: . Rico will drive his pickup truck pulling a trailer that can haul 2 cars. He will be hauling his M3 on this trailer and leaving a extra slot in the event of a break down along the way :thumbsup2:. If you have any questions or ideas you would like to share please feel free to post them on this thread. For those of you that live down in the south part of Texas I recommend you drive up to Killeen, Texas and link up with us the night prior to the roll out up to Dallas Fort Worth. Some of the members here in Killeen might let you crash at their house so you can rest up from your long drive from down South. For the guys and gals in El Paso, Texas you know to link up with us in Grants, NM at the hotel. Anyone else from out of state is more than welcome to link up with us as well along the way just let us know the link up point you want to meet up at. I recommend Grants, NM at the hotel.

Everything was going good along the way Randomquickness (Matt) was leading the way in the Twin Turbo Porsche


Matt in the Porsche was leading the way until....!!! Yeah you guess it the arrow took him out The BMW Gods got angry
The front diff was toast from the arrow strike

The tow truck had to tow the Porsche away and the custom plate no longer had the meaning of: TT FTW (Twin Turbo For The Win) it was more like what 2005M3driver (Gus) said it means. Tow Truck For The Win little did Gus know that comment would come back and Bite him later


This E46 M3 is 2005M3driver (Gus) car take a good look and READ his rear bumper


I think the Porsche God got back at Gus for making fun of Matt car breaking down.

Remember Gus bumper well Matt decided to get even for his comment about the Porsche: Tow Truck For The Win

Once we arrive in Las Vegas some of the Texas members had the mobile detail guy hook our cars up from the long trip from Texas we wanted our cars clean for the big MFest caravan link up the following morning.

Once that was done we went and checked into our hotel room at the Palazzo

Once the 3 day MFest event was over we took a last pic of some of our cars in the under ground Palazzo Hotel Vip parking lot for MFest Only cars

And some of us made a small stop at Hoover Dam and we were excited about all the fun we had at MFest and can't wait to go back again at MFest 7 The Super Show

I have Open wedge trailers and am trying to acquire a 28-32' enclosed for this trip.

all I am trying to bring is the 28-32' enclosed trailer which can carry two coupes.

i plan on hauling my M3 and if someone breaks down, haul them "IF" Jesse can't fix it on the spot. maybe a trip to the nearest bmw dealer to purchase the needed part(s) maybe all they need. either way, last year we had two catastrophes and this year i foresee none and we have double the amount of cars coming.

i will have room for two, any larger and i will need to involve company stuff which will make my weekend more work than play. screw that i want to play

was McDonalds but the address was 1 mile east of the highway.

Genghis Grill right off the service road to the highway. Nice parking lot size with a View of the Intersection and a great entry back on to the North bound hwy.
