It's supercharged? Wonder how much torque it's putting out. BTW, S5 is still sexier.

Yes, it's supercharged. This has been speculated for a while. If I recall correctly, the supercharger is not built by Audi, but outsourced to another company, much like how the Mitsu builds the N54 turbo.

The heart of the new S4 and S4 Avant is a completely redesigned engine. The 3.0 TFSI, the newest member of the Audi V-engine family, is an outstanding example of how the brand with the four rings blends performance and efficiency. The V6 generates its power from a displacement of 2,995 cc, is equipped with a supercharger, and delivers 245 kW (333 hp). The sedan sprints to100 km/h (62.14 mph) in just 5.1 seconds, and the Avant in 5.2 seconds: they both have an electronically governed top speed of 250 km/h (155.34 mph).

Forgive me if I am underwhelmed. The 335xi achieves the same performance / fuel economy today. The 335xi's N54 engine is tuned to 300 hp only to not canabalize the M cars.

This was actually my impression too. Based on the details in that review, the only thing the Audi has going for it that the E90 335xi doesn't is adjustable shocks. BMW will be releasing the DCT for the 3-series starting in 2009 (at least in Europe), so that advantage will be disappearing shortly. Virtually everything else mentioned in that preview the 335xi already has, except 3 years earlier than the B8 S4.

Couple that with the likelihood that the S4 will be at least several thousand dollars more than the 335xi, (if the current E92 335xi vs. S5 comparisons are any indication), and I honestly don't see anything all that new or super impressive.

Of course, competition breeds advancements, so the more, the merrier.

not bad. I've always wanted an S4. back in 01 they were going for the same price as the 330ci's. but I got the 330ci instead. The Bimmers look more sportier and aggressive. I wonder how much the new S4 will go for.

The Quick Reference said the B8 S4 would be similarly priced to the outgoing B7 S4.

Damn that's fugly. Well I guess it didn't have a chance since it's based off of an ugly car to begin with, the A4 (durr).

I will never understand why people like Audi interiors, so cluttered with buttons and shit. However, the seats are sex.

B5 S4 is way better.
