Convince me to upgrade
I currently have a 2008 E93 335i that I've had for 2 and half years. I love the thing to death but now want more.
I've identified a beautiful, low mileage, 2009 E93 M3 (Jerez on Fox red, DCT, Premium/Technology/Cold Weather packages, 19" wheels) which I can get for $20k and my current E93. Test driven it a few times and I can't enough of it. Convince me I should go for this M3 rather than mod my 335i which currently is just stock. I have never actually driven a fully modified 335i to know how it compares. |

Unless your goal is to go single turbo and makes stupid hp, then the M3 is no question for me. I've had mine since last July and I'm still amazed at how good this car is. The engine, the looks, drive... everything.

Every time you get into your M3, you’ll have that same giddy feeling as your first test drive... step up!!

I just sold my 07 335i and got into a 13 M3 in March. Only have 900 miles , few more to go till 1200. But let me tell you....big difference between jump from 335i to M3. Just do it!

I don't think you need any convincing. Seems like you can get enough of the m3, that should tell you something. I came from a full bolt on e92 335i and I love the m3 even though is not as fast, nothing can beat the roar of the NA s65 and the way the ///M handles. You will NEVER look back

So, I'm convinced (that was easy, eh?). I have to have my local shop check it out first. Carfax is clean but I still don't trust it. The first mod I need to do is get rid of the chrome around the windows. Has anyone done this on a vert? Is it a DYI? And with the Jerez what would you recommend...I was thinking of wrapping it in matte black vinyl. |

Went from a heavily modded 335i to a stock m3. Would never go back. Do it!

Convince you?
If you're not already completely convinced after driving it, maybe it's not really the car for you... Or do you just want us to help give you the confidence to pull the trigger? It only took me one drive to know I had to have one - I'm just glad I waited to take that drive until I had the means to make it mine!

Make the move trade in 335i for M3. Same here I hated the chrome trim wish BMW offered the shadow lines for E93.

Convince you? Look at the ridiculous number of existing threads about people contemplating this move and asking for feedback from others who'd done it. You won't find many (if any) members saying they felt the move wasn't as fun or substantial as they were expecting, even those who ran heavily modded 335s and used to brag about how much faster than an M3 they were at a fraction of the cost. Other than that and a test drive (done properly, i.e. at sustained higher RPMs and on curvy roads), what more convincing do you need?

If you just want more power, then it it would only take a few thousand bucks to surpass the M3 straight line speed. But if you attempt to duplicate the M3 suspension, brakes, drivetrain, body work etc with mods, you will surely exceed the cost difference between the two, and your resale value would be much less than the M3. If funds permit, get the M3 and supercharge it, and you will have reached supercar territory!

I'm sorry but... I have never read a "from 335 to M3" thread that regretted it. In fact, it's almost always "why didn't I do this from the beginning?" response
