Successful iPhone4 Bluetooth music streaming!
So after hearing that it was possible to connect my iPhone 4 to the car wirelessly, I dicked around with the settings and it works! The trick is to go all the way to the right in your iDrive settings to the + screen and choose phone options. Click the audio box and that's that!

Except you can't plug it in or your car will default to the non-bluetooth mode and you will have to select that option again.

My suggestion if you want to use bluetooth exclusively is to get a low profile lighter plug charger and just charge the phone off of that in the center console and then use bluetooth streaming for the music and phone integration. Works for me and I don't get annoyed when I plug my phone in and lose the bluetooth settings.

What's sound quality like compared to hard-wired?

I would say the sound is about 90% of hard wired. I think it's also more dependent on good recording quality. Good enough for most situations.
Kibosh, thanks. That's a good idea. |

No it doesn't. I am actually very impressed with how it works. Certain phone apps can cause cut outs if there are sounds associated with them. The silent awitch fixes that though.

what's the point of blue tooth audio if you're getting the cradle anyway?
fyi, if you're picking up the cradle at the dealer, which I highly recommend, I'd test out ALL features the cradle has to offer before driving off. A lot of them are faulty.
