Anyone in Toronto got DCT software updated?
My 2009 DCT M3 has the dreaded lag. It is not too bad, but not worthy of a performance car, and is the only thing I do not like about the car (well, besides some swirl marks, which I am trying to get picus to fix soon).
I know many people on the forum got the same problem fixed or at least alleviated with a software update. So I went to a dealer, replicated the problem on a testdrive with a mechanic, gave them an SIB number, which they carefully wrote on the file... In 8 hours they called me at told me to pick up the car. To my shock, they have not done anything because they did not find any error codes. I am so angry. The mechanic agreed it lags. I was able to replicate it 100% of the time in certain conditions. It's a fact there are M3s just like mine but without the issue. So WTF??? If wheels fall off, will they also wait for an error code to pop up? Anyway, back to the point. Was anyone able to get the dealership to update software to get the lag addressed? The mechanic I did testdrive with did not know how to operate DCT, so no wonder he had no idea about the issue. But maybe there are mechanics or service advisers who are more in the loop? I would very much appreciate if I get referred to someone who can fix my baby... |
