Help: accidentally got car wash engine cleaner on M3

Guys,

I took my '05 M3 through one of those self-service manual car washes to get travel dirt off the car and, well, I accidentally got that green engine cleaner all over the trunk deck lid and quarter panel. I thought the knob was set on high pressure soap and it was loose so before I realized it, i blasted it on the paint. I immediately washes it with high pressure water and then soaped it and rinsed again. I guess I just need reassurance that the paint will be okay for a few days before I can wax it. Any long-term bad effects? Will it look normal after a polish and wax?

I really appreciate your help and suggestions. Yeah, I know I screwed up.

Thanks.
Patrick

Engine cleaner may be slightly harsh but paint safe. There's also paint in your engine bay remember? Just assume your coating/wax is gone tho.

Thanks all! I know I am (like a lot of us) overly paranoid.

You should be hand washing your car with Evian water and griots garage lavender soap.

I'm pretty sure it's all the same foam at those places, no matter the knob setting. You're fine.
