M3 Sedan with DCT?

Hi all,

I have my heart set on this car and I was wondering if anyone snagged the sedan with DCT. I have a dealer who says that they can now order one with DCT but I just wanted to confirm.

I did a search. I guess there are a few people who have sedans ordered with DCT. However, I'd like to do a Euro delivery. Not sure how that is going to pan out. I sense headaches in my future.

There are a few people with m-dct sedans in the BMW NA system (037), but I haven't seen anyone with an order that's been accepted by BMW AG (111). We're thinking the June allocations should come out next week and we'll go 111.

No guy you got it all wrong headaches in your future....no no no Just a nice long wait filled with delay after delay thats all. You got plenty of time.... if so order it and join us in the nice long almost never ending wait. Sit back have a seat at your computer grab a cold one because this could take awhile.

Has anybody had any second thoughts on an '08 purchase and just waiting a few more months for an '09 with possibly updated I-Drive?

I admit that I have a few hesitations. Especially if they improve the iDrive software.

But... I don't think I could handle waiting until Oct or something. Assuming allocations start in June, and I get in there somewhere reasonable and I get mine in July or there abouts, I'm going to stick with it. If my delivery gets pushed out to Aug however... Ooo... that will be a tough situation.

Yes, but not sure if M3 will get new idrive in 2009 or 2010... too long to wait

very true...the answer is obviously unknown. i'm going 09 just for the fact that i can afford to wait a few extra months and i'd like to avoid instant depreciation. plus, i'm keeping my fingers crossed for i-drive updates. they did it with the e46 m3, and there really is no reason why they wouldn't do it now for 09 unless they don't have the materials like they don't have 19" rims or M-DCT trannies.

Looking at the I-Drive spy photos, it looks like there is even an option for the center console color instead of just black. I really like the brushed aluminum center console in my 335 and was disappointed not to see the option in the '08 M3.

I am also looking to order an E90 with M-DCT but I can't decide if i want to wait for 09 production. It seems like E90 M3's are really rare...I like that!

I have ordered a E90 with M-DCT and was originally promised delivery in April which was quickly posponed to may then end may and lastly to end June. The order status is 111 but my dealer has informed me that there be maybe more delays to come because I ordered Extended leather and 19".
