Brake Maintence

I have a 2008 M3 with 30,000 miles. Recently the service light came on for scheduled brake service. Do I really need to to this service with my mileage? If not how can I reset the computer?

Check and see what the pads and rotors look like. Your service interval for the brakes depend more on your driving style than mileage.

Is it the brake fluid service, or the brake pads themselves? There are wear sensors for the pads.

It's pretty easy to visually inspect the pads/rotors.

Brake fluid must be changed every 2 years regardless of mileage. Definitely have it changed.

Just scheduled my service, does $100 sound right for a brake fluid change?

Yes. It's basically one hour of labor.
