Cutouts!

Congrats on your build! Your car looks great!

I'm getting my cutouts put in tomorrow! I can't wait

I'd like to see where you put your switch? I put mine in the ash tray and tapped the power source off the lighter plug. If you didn't know what to look for you would never notice it.

If you don't mind me asking, what does a job like the exhaust cut-out cost?

Exhaust looks great!!

How difficult was the black M3 badge to put on? I am really liking it and keep going back and forth because I see no point in taking off the chrome one.

Did you just take the chrome one off and then put the new one on? Did it come with adhesive?

John - all badges come with the required tape already applied, just like OEM badges. It'll take you longer to get all the old tape off than get the new one on. A little tip, put a strip of blue painter's tape under, and on both sides of, the original badge that way when you put the new one on you won't have to worry about it being misaligned.

Haha, I have debaged many cars, but never re-badged. The painters tape is an excellent tip.

I'm thinking about changing the badge to black, I guess I can always change it back.

Pics of spacers!

Exactly. And all it'll cost you is the price of a couple of badges. I'm tempted to debadge simply because detailing inside the 3 is a pain in the ass.

LAndshark - The cutouts run $400-$500 and then whatever your shop charges to install them. So under a grand!

Quality is right on with the rebadge method. Works great! Since it rained yesterday my car is really really dirty, so I will have to wait till Sunday to take pics of the car with the spacers. Good thing is Ill have to tint and roof done so the car will be 99% complete for the pics!

have you dynoed it to see if the cutouts resulted in more power? or at least do you feel a difference?

No vibrations that I can feel at this point.

I plan to do a open/closed dyno, but have not yet. Cant really FEEL a difference, but the sounds make you think its faster.

It bypasses the mufflers (typically the largest obstruction in the exhaust system) for more power.
