Wtb M3 Dct Sedan.

I am in the market for an 08-09 M3 DCT sedan. Located in SoCal. White preferred. Other colors could work but white is by far my favorite.

Comment or PM me with details.

Thank you,
Alex - AVAsdourian@gmail.com

EDIT: Under 60k miles preferred. Thanks for the heads up. My definition of low was just stuff thats not 70-110k, sorry for the confusion. Do you think I am still out of ranged for a 40-50k mile car?

Yes. The car you seek is mid $40s.

+1

I spoke to the OP about my car which fits his bill but it's mid 40's so out of his range.

Maybe you should look at this one if you are ok with salvage title but only 12k miles and $39k:

I am looking for the same thing (2009 e90 DCT with all the packages, <65k, AW/BLK around 35k). Just a couple of things to think about. Sellers always think their car is worth more then it is and buyers always want it for less. I am keeping an eye out for one. Hoping the selection becomes better when the new m3/m4s start rolling out. mid 40s is true if you said 2011 (source)

A low milage 2009 should be in at the top of your range. kbb says for a 2009 - e90 m3 DCT with all the packages and in excellent condition with 23k miles has a value of $38,567 (source)

cars.com has 13 that fit the bill right now. none white.

Good luck with your hunt! and don't forget you usually get what you pay for.

+2, wait another year before you will see those prices. And even then the highly desirable white colors will always command top dollar.

If you don't care about history of the car, accidents, condition of the car, then there's plenty of sub 40k cars out there I agree. But most east/mid west cars will have tons of rust issues. Very few people can honestly say they store their M3 the entire winter especially if it has a few owners.

The village bicycle m3 will always be cheap. You want that virgin one, you need to pay to play

2 cents: KBB is bull crap for limited cars or special ones. Try to tell me KBB value and I'll politely tell you to go buy it from Kelley or show you the door

Why don't you go buy that salvage title one, fits your budget?

Price

He is saying an ok range for price on a 60k mile car.. Telling the guy to buy a salvaged car is ridiculous... Pay what you want and be patient...

OP, do not waste your time or money on a salvage title car. That is stupid advice as you are buying someone else's problem. Be patient and wait for the car you are looking for. As far as KBB value being bull crap on limited or special cars? LOL, Seriously? So how do you base a price on this car whether you are a seller or a buyer? If not KBB , NADA , Edmunds ect as a guide then what? Some magical number you come up with?

Once in a while you have to be realistic about things. We all want things cheap but want it to be good quality. Do those two things really coincide? Once in a blue moon, so if youre willing to be patient with the understanding you may wait for a long time then youre on the right track. But I truly don't think youre gonna get what you want at the $40K mark. Don't see this realistically happening now.

Looking at your list of cars, I can see you have no experience....

Go tell a Supra owner you want to pay KBB and he will laugh you in your face. Rare car pricing is dictated not by me, but rather by the market demand.

Why does a 1998 Integra Type R command $25k? (just saw this online)

Or try an NSX

LOL....i feel so inferior that you say I have no experience by "my list of cars". I wonder what cars one would have to own in your expert mind to "Have Experience". Seeing that your profile does not show what cars you own you must have a whole stable of M and P cars to have achieved the expert knowledge you profess?

OP sorry for the thread getting hijacked. Good luck in your search.

OP,

Don't give up. you will find one in your price range. You can find them for less than $40k with relatively low miles. Just be patient and maybe flexible regarding color.

Don't consider a salvage title.

You can buy a clean car with a clean title with your budget.

Agreed. Absolutely stupid advice to tell the OP to buy a salvaged car.

I take back what I said earlier in this thread. You can definitely find an 08-09 with 50-60K miles on it for 40K or less. I looked around and its possible. Be more flexible with you color scheme.

What the hell is going on in here? Buy a salvage car? Look at autotrader.com for five minutes and you will find lots of 08s in the price range of 40k.

To all,

Thank you for all of your advice and ideas. I am very patient, and have been in the market for around 8 months now, but not specifically for an m3 Sedan. I am confident that the right car will show up at some point in the near future.

This post was to just try and catch a person thinking about selling their car, fitting my description, in order for me to make a deal before excess interest attracts.

I in no way attempted to slack off and have the sellers come to me, and I have been searching constantly, checking several sites daily. I hope nobody has gotten offended and I have done my research to know that what I am looking for will soon show up.

Thank you all,
-Alex
