Wheels and springs first. Makes car look awesome ! Then while you are driving around looking like a bad ass you can contemplate things like: test pipes, exhausts, tunes and superchargers

I think you should wait until you find a good deal on used parts. I would get wheels first and then wait a while and get exhaust and tune. There will be more used parts available as people convert their cars back to stock before they ditch their M3 for something else. That is when I would buy a Akrapovic exhaust. Do it slow and enjoy it in small steps or the modding bug might eat all of your money. Also you are going to want to make sure each upgrade yields expected gains, so doing one thing at a time can be better.

I saw you looking at the M Performance. Only consider that if you don't plan on messing with the x-pipe whatsoever. Otherwise stay away.

I beg to be different then most of my fellow members above .... besides the exhaust is pretty cool as it is now.

Get the wheels ... you will see them and love them each time you approach or leave the car (we all look back ).

As for the exhaust you cannot see or hear it when you leave or approach the car can you now

Listen to Canadian Yoda.

The rims will be sick no matter when you buy them and they probably won't be any cheaper next year. Next year performance used/new parts will cost less.

Girls won't care if you have 414 or 500 hp anyway. The car and the sound it makes is going to scare the crap out of them either way. However, they are going to look at the rims, and so will you.

If you want more hp, a super charger kit is the vital thing you need to improve hp. Approximating, you could spend 10k and get 200 hp on a super charger kit or spend 10k on modding other things and get <100 hp.

I really liked the m performance and test pipe set up EAS did. It sounded sick!

I don't want to make irrational decisions so ill think about it more for a few more weeks...

Thanks guys for all the feedback. Once I get the new mods ill definitely post pics and videos.

Can I submit another option, use the $$$ burning in your pocket and pay off the car. Per your statement, that would be the gateway to track days. Then opt for performance upgrades (whether exhaust, suspension, etc).

Go for Akra Evo full system (2nd hand) or test pipe + tune. You get to hear and tangibly feel a performance enhancement everyday in-and-out of the car. Wheels are great at first, and you see them when outside the car, but that wears off too quickly IMHO. Plus, the exhaust / tune are things you'll want for the track for fun too. $3-4k TE37 SLs can wait, very pricey, but of course nice and high quality. If you want it all (including Track Wheels), look at APEX EC-7s or ARC-8s, track rats swear by them. They are inexpensive, and honestly they look pretty damn good and are also quite light.

Here's what you need to consider:

1. Exhaust and tune will give a little more power if you go full catless and get the proper tune to go with it. However, your car will fail emissions readiness testing if this is an issue. You will gain some power, a nice sound, but nothing earth shattering

2. A nice set of light custom wheels like from HRE with wider tires will give you much needed grip. The M3 is definitely undertired from the factory.

So contrary to many here, I would go with a nice set of light, forged custom built wheels and wider rubber. I think it will make more of a difference in the drive of the car.
